Althea Grace is a young singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the Chicago area who plays solo shows and with area musicians as a full band under the moniker Althea Grace Band. Althea’s music can best be described as in-your-face indie blues with heavy doses of jazz, funk, and rock featuring her powerful, soulful voice and guitar skills to match. Though not yet old enough to drive, Althea has been playing top festivals and venues in Chicago, The Midwest, and beyond for the last five years.  In 2012, Althea won the McHenry County junior talent contest and has been featured numerous times in regional newspaper, radio, and TV outlets. Althea has opened for American Idol finalist Bucky Covington, has shared the stage with many top local and regional bands, and on many occasions with the multi-Grammy-winning band Los Lobos.

Michael Kaiz of Jambase described Althea as “One of Chicago’s rising gems”.  Look for the debut album from Althea Grace Band coming in early 2015.
