Istanbul-based psychedelic space-funk electronic indie band Yalnayak is thrilled to announce the release of their debut album, "Ayıp Olmasın" scheduled to drop on March 1st, 2024. Taking its name from the poem by renowned Turkish poet Nazım Hikmet, Yalnayak captivates audiences with a unique fusion of Anatolian melodies, psychedelic tones and indie inspired spirit.

Drawing inspiration from the Turkish psychedelic era and Modern electronic sonic palette accompanied with funky guitars, and groovy bass-lines. The band's distinct sound, characterized by the warm indie vocals of Damla Temel, electronic production of Netam, bouncing bass grooves of Batuhan Camci, and funky guitar riffs of Semih Duz. Featuring captivating collaborations with trumpeter Can Ömer Uygan on ‘’Bıraktığın Yerden’’ & Turkish Song-writerer and rapper Adakanbo on Sıfır

Ayıp Olmasın is a testament to Yalnayak's evolution as musicians and storytellers. The album features twelve tracks that weave together elements of Turkish folklore, self exploration, and raw youth energy. From ethereal ballads such as ‘’Tuzaklar’’ to the pulsating opening stunner ‘Kayıp Olunur’, each track on "Ayıp Olmasın" showcases Yalnayak's ability to push musical boundaries while staying true to their Anatolian roots.

Following the breakthrough debut album of Georgian Singer-songwriter "Dionysus VS Tamada," Georgian singer-songwriter and producer Tamada announced his sophomore album ‘9 Deadly Sins for Tamada’, which is set to be released on July 4th, 2024.

Tamada, named after the traditional Georgian toastmaster, continues to explore and redefine the boundaries of electronic music with his unique blend of experimental sounds and deeply rooted cultural influences. His latest work, "9 Deadly Sins for Tamada," is an intriguing conceptual journey through nine original sins, each represented by a track on the album. These sins are derived from Society reflecting societal, personal, and cultural experiences. Tamada says, without these sins, there would no Tamada.

Written between 2020 and 2024, each track delves into these newly defined sins, offering listeners a deeply personal and philosophical experience. Alt Orient is excited to announce Netam's first live album and the first recording of the Alt Orient Live Session series.  This album, recorded live in audio and video at the iconic Yedikule Fortress in the heart of Istanbul, under the direction of Motif and production of @dunyadansesler . Creating a special performance for live electronic music lovers.

Netam brings together electronic elements and Anatolian melodies in a fascinating way in his music.  In this live performance, he presents a unique show with his skills in electronic music as well as his use of synthesizer and trumpet.  It creates an immersive effect on the listener with its sound design enriched with psychedelic textures and naive transitions between songs.  Melodically rich and relaxing, this album can be a nice accompaniment through your day.

Recorded in September 2022 in the Yedikule Dungeons of the Fatih district, known for its rich history and lively atmosphere, Netam's work comes together with the historical texture of Istanbul and appears as an immersive live performance. This performance was recorded during a sunset on the Historical Peninsula, inside one of the towers in Yedikule Dungeons.

The live album/video will be available on YouTube 25th of July and  all audio platforms from August 23rd.

Every fake line drawn by colonizers implies the violence of division by splitting communities that share deep history, culture and identity. The “Fake Lines: Sono Levant” compilation confronts this colonial legacy head on, especially as the genocide in Gaza is enabled by the fragmentation of surrounding countries into pseudo states; products of imperial divide and conquer tactics that leave them stripped of real sovereignty.

This 36-track compilation unites artists from the fractured and conquered Levant region and its diaspora, alongside guest musicians from Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Turkey, France, Venezuela, Italy and India. Spanning alternative and anti-pop sounds, the compilation journeys through folk, experimental, rock, hip-hop, ambient, electronica & everything in between.

This project began from a place of anger and feeling useless during the zionist genocide in Gaza, this project was initiated in hopes of feeling that we have done something. Yet even upon finalizing the project and preparing to release it into the world, that feeling did not disappear, and the void has not been filled. As music workers, we do what we do best: communicate our thoughts and philosophy through music. More than just music, “Fake Lines: Sono Levant” is a bold cultural act of non-compliance with the current state of affairs in the Levant. Born from the deliberate fragmentation imposed on the region to weaken its unity, the compilation seeks to reconnect and amplify its shared identity through creative collaboration and artistic solidarity. We strive for an alternative world where there are no lines drawn between us and our priorities are fairly aligned and more developed than in the world we live in now.

Majority of the revenue generated from this project will directly support grassroots organizations in Palestine, with the remainder fairly distributed among the participating artists.

Released via Fake Lines, a non-profit record label established during the genocide in Gaza, and in collaboration with music distribution platform Proton Radio, this project ensures that neither party takes royalties, prioritizing fundraising and the artists.

Songs for My Grandmother Remixes is the latest in the ever-evolving musical adventures of Tuğçe Kurtiş. Produced in partnership with Tuğçe’s long time collaborator Santi (Santiago Ferreira), who is known for his novel arrangements of Balkan & Anatolian music  as well as rewriting Paraguayan folklore. With this new compilation, Tuğçe Kurtiş presents another take on her grandmother’s favorite songs through contributions by a wonderfully eclectic team of producers. The remix album begins with Acid Pauli’s enticingly atmospheric rendition of “Yıldızların Altında” (Underneath the Stars), followed by San Miguel’s characteristically heartful and soothing version. Álvaro Suárez then takes Yıldızların Altında decisively deep into the dancefloor with his sensual and hypnotic style, while Anatolian Sessions brings it home with the luring sounds of flute and kaval. The next track is the only remix of “Gözleri Aşka Gülen” (The One Whose Eyes Smile at Love) on the album where Alizarina fully embraces the song’s joyful spirit and creates moments of magic through his sublime clarinet lines. Then comes Rodrigo Gallardo who skillfully transports the Turkish vintage “Sevdan Olmasa” (Without Your Love) into the Andes through his folkloric flute and ritualistic vibe. Spy from Cairo presents yet another enchanting, idiosyncratically “Arabadub” rendition of this track with his delightful strings, deep baseline, and lush percussion. The album ends lavishly with an irresistibly groovy version of “Sevdan Olmasa” by Drumspyder who intricately weaves together hand percussion and electronic sounds into the finely sculpted grooves of the original track.

Our new EP is a mandala of earthy and electric tones blended together with soft, driving drama. Two storytellers join the Souq ranks; Turkish Omerar Nanda and Russian Zuma Dionys complement each other’s worlds with ease, gifting us with an entrancing piece of work where traditional folk sounds are curbed by edgy electric ones. Hebele Hubulu comically refers to the language of those who speak with dogma and pretence, its cascading vocals emulating nonsense words in a jaunty march forward. It is a call to reflect on how you speak to and of the world, a call on not taking yourself so seriously. Berlin Based Zuma Dionys crafts cosmic landscapes in his work, this time serving us the zesty Belantash, rhythmically coiling and clapping, reaching a peak of electronic Oriental groove implosion. We hope you enjoy this peculiar beauty of an EP.
