Sheltered Child is inspired by the oppression immigrants are currently facing. Most people have felt sheltered at some point in there lives. Similarly, some of us feel speechless and voiceless against this situation. Therefore, the song serves as a message of rebellion.

College loans, eviction, bankruptcy, are circumstances that many of us experience. Not being able to pay off bills can bring great detriment to ones life. Can you image losing everything at the sake of one bill? Can you imagine living with the stress, the anxiety, and the detriment of not knowing where your next meal may come from? What if in the midst of all that, someone came and provided. What if a stranger came out of nowhere and told you that all of your bills were taken care of? Can you image the joy and freedom you would experience?

Similarly, 2000 years ago a man by the name of Jesus did just that. When we were all condemned to spiritual death for eternity, he came down and sacrificed himself so that we would be able to live forever. He came down and paid out my debt in full so that I could be free. Thus, the track celebrates the freedom and abundance of life that one gains from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Can you imagine being in debt? Can you imagine if in the midst of that, if someone came out of nowhere and took care of all of your bills for FREE?

Alvin the Architect is a music producer and songwriter who aims to build up and encourage listeners through Hip Hop. In 2009, few months prior to the earthquake, his family moved from Haiti to the United States. His family fled the country under circumstances that placed their safety and well-being at risk. Thus, the U.S. became their place of refuge. 

Upon arrival, they resided at Pembroke Pines, FL where he first developed his love for music. The passion derived from studying song lyrics as a method of learning the English language. At the time, influences such as Kanye West, Drake, and Lil Wayne became his teachers. After a year in the states, his family moved to Indianapolis, IN. 

In High School, Alvin had the opportunity to perform at a talent show, which he was initially planning to use as a way to entertain and bring the audience to laughter. Unfortunately, a couple weeks prior to the show, one of his classmates committed suicide. As a result, Alvin decided to use his performance to rap about depression and the effects trauma can have on ones life. The devastating experience became a turning point to where he realized his passion, which was originally inspired from the desire of learning English, could be used as a way to influence peoples lives.
