“SPACE” began as an audio assignment for Matt’s degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and gradually turned into a Self-Produced Electro-Acoustic Pop Anthem. 
At the time of writing the song, Matt was battling with self-identity issues, and it was through experimenting with captured sound recordings that he was able to step out of an old world and into the new. With bold, defiant lyrics, "I'm gonna make it... On my own", and the metaphor of climbing up to Space, Matt creates a victory song about individual hope and freedom. 
"I wanted to make it as real as possible, and as a result the song helped me reconnect with my love for creating music. I think the dream would be that the song can help inspire someone else too".
