I think the fantasy must’ve dropped a couple keys/
off the coast of every dream that we’re falling through/

He bundled up some dry driftwood and tried to start a fire/
to no avail, no advice ‘cept the wind’s input/
but he still held his chin up to spy a roaring fire/
on the other island’s coast where warmth withstood/
he wondered if his island was the one moving and not the other way around, in a silence that he found soothing/ 
he was lucid but he pinched himself just in case/
when he saw her in the second coastal shelf’s turquoise waves/
she was smiling at him from the sand bar opposite/
and as the islands almost hit, the thought to jump across was.. obvious/
but the waters looked as if their endless waves would swallow him/
so all he did was.. hesitate/
he had replayed the moment in his head a thousand times/
as the days all came and went, he staggered drunk around the isle/
he pushed himself up from the sand to see it glinting/
a second island faintly moving in the distance/
