Portugal ambient duo ZEN BABOOM presents the 4th edition of Sofa Beats Series.

Zen Baboon are Daniel Rosado and Henrique Palhavã. Both were born in the 70`s in Portugal and since an early age kept a close connection with the musical world, focusing on great sound quality and original construction. Daniel is a sound engineer that worked in a studio in Lisbon and started producing electronic music in the late 90′s. Henrique, a zoologist, lives and works in his own farm and started as an ambient DJ, ( ̈DJ Henriq ̈) and producer in 2001. They got together in 2003 and decided to melt their musical preferences and create Zen Baboon.

The subliminal frequencies play around as you awake. Dreams that spill over ever so slightly into
reality. Thoughts that gently come towards you and float away, only to come back to you in the
future. The journey might be that we are all travellers on a boomerang in constant orbit around
each other. When we pass by - please do stop and say hi :) and keep dreaming…. This set is proof
that dreams come true. My first set at the Boom Festival 2016. A celebration of 10 year journey,
playing chill and a very big thank you to every single person, sound and thought that said “hi” as
we passed each other. Hold on, I see another idea approaching : ) Boom!

MUTEK is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination and development of digital creativity in sound, music, and audio-visual art. Concentrated on elevating the art of live contemporary electronic music and cutting-edge visual works, MUTEK.AE 2017 brought together artists crossing and combining disciplines to create a unique and compelling event.

No animal, human or alien ears were harmed during this mix.

"Mutation" is a collection of sonic experiments and performances that may or may not contain extraterrestrial DNA. The second edition of MICRO MUTEK AE featured an eclectically curated line up of some of the most visionary and original artists in the electronic music and visual/tech world. 

This time the experiment was conducted at MUTEK's Nocturne 1 with quite a curious turnout of scientists( sane and insane ) and non-primate lab assistants ( they did have heels though )
