OB-XTRM 2 is the evolution of the simpler *OB-XTRM 1, originally based on the voice architecture of the OB-X legendary 80s synth it now features functions from OB-Xa an onward.
OB-XTRM is modelling the 8 voice original architecture with a particular emphasis on the "growl factor" aka the distortion happening at different stage of the circuit, notably the nasty OTA CA3080 chip heavily featured in the original design (filter, VCA, output stage...) letting you control the degree of sonic nastiness you want from small to way beyond the specs.
Special care was taken so you can easily and quickly control the 8 voice cards variation, five sliders acts as master offsets at different part of the circuit with an optional "real-time" small deviation from note to note.
Most of the features come from original specs, some have been enhanced with additional modulation capabilities. (Mac/PC 64bit)

Primarily designed as a quick go to OBerheim like 8 voices VA synth for that trademark electro brass with crazy vibrato it turns out that it can be useful for a lot of things :).
It is not a straight OBX emulation and do not provide all the features of the original, however it provides a new Xtreme parameter to let you overdrive the circuitry and the filter and a FAT mode for a massive  8x8 detunes brassy sound! It features a State Variable filter, 8 independents voices that can also be routed to different outputs in your DAW for experiments! (output before the filter stage).

This quick demo features OB-Xtreme on all synth sounds, VSDSX VST for the drums and a touch of wah guitar (colorsound wah 1975 original) feed through a tube amp.

Nice overdriven tone using the"Xtreme" feature, some Oscillator Sync for classic screaming leads, snappy envelopes.. everything is raw OB-Xtreme VST excepted a little funky Guitar, VLINN LM-1 Drum Machine in the Background and a bit of reverb/delay.

Quick funk FIX of the day :)
Extracted from a longer jam...OB-Xtreme used for the classic synth horns sound!
Saxophone is an instrument that I don't play and I don't have a saxophone player next to me so I fired up a nice kontakt library thing called "Mr Sax" and use it as the sound source for the Sax sound...sort of do the job :)
For the rest it is my Stratocaster with a BOSS T-Wah and a Blues Driver, For Bass I also used the T-Wah.
Drums are VLINN (LM-1) and VSDSX (Simmons) like always ahaha

As I was jamming with OB-Xtreme VST, I thought that everywhere there is demos of the OBX synthesizer playing Vanhalen Jump...Its nice but, we HEART it enough :)so I come up with this simple anthem that sounded nice, it makes me think of VanHalen Jump but I cannot help myself to funk it up pretty quick ahahaaha :)
VLINN & VSDSX are used for the Drums and I have recorded some live electric guitar and bass on top.
