Wandering Waves... (FMDrive + SPSG VST)REC + VGM + Hardware REC

This Track is FMDrive & SPSG VST only and there is no effects.
No PCM here except the Toe Jam & Earl PCM Voices.
I particularly like the FM drums :)
This track starts a funky journey in Funkotron and then take you somewhere in Space...with guitars and stars.. The PSG only solo features the 3 channels and showcase the craaaazy Z80 timer modulations going on to the volume registers...
Then at some point, lost in space, you land nowhere where some 6 channels FM organ will mess with your jazzy mind...and you will end up in a funky mess :)

Cool feat well in a futuristic Intro Theme...
I was thinking about Yuzo Koshiro "epic style" when I made this...
It features some unusual usage of CSM mode for the lead in the end(YM2612 third channel, auto key on/off at timer speed...)
This kind of talking sound is possible because FMDrive VST let you use one MIDI channel to key on the operators and another that force the timer to run at the speed of the incoming note, the key off internally shut down the CSM mode to have proper note cuts... while doing this you can offset (transpose) the frequency of the 4 operators independently (because CSM mode also activate the Special Mode).

You Can't Control My World


-Proof of concept-
The PC version of Sonic 3 & Knuckles contain different tracks for levels and menus, such as this one. I'm trying to arrange them so they sound like they came from the Genesis.

V2* Last version had the Death Egg section too loud, and made everything sound a bit disharmonious (And sounded ugly as hell), so I toned it down and moved it more towards the background.

V3* I still wasn't quite too happy with it, so I made some instrument changes and removed the death egg nod as I couldn't get it to work as I wanted.

For quite a while I've been working as one of the composers on a small group developing a Sonic fangame called 'Sonic Chroma'. My group, Team Chroma, only really has a small handful of artists thus far, so we're really looking for more artists as well as programmers!

I’m also not the only composer in this, Wheyloffle, Is another team member who is also composing for this soundtrack (and also the person responsible of the cover art and the logo). We are going to collab in some tracks but also we are doing some tracks ourselves, so make sure you follow both of us!

More work on Return to Aloha. It's a very busy year for me with writing and what not, but I was happy to get a little downtime to revisit this tune from the first album in the Capel series (Capelspace? IDK.) This tune has a way of popping up constantly throughout the albums in the series, but I wanted  to do a more 80s take on it so it fit in line better with the albums after the first.  Sketch is by Renz!
