I wrote this song about about five years ago about approaching my eventual first love. I was very nervous to talk to him and when I walked by him one morning sitting by himself at a lunch table I almost asked him "Are you lonely?" instead of "Are you alone?" and I realize there's a difference between the two that I wanted to write into this song. 

It's the first song I ever wrote and if you look further into my profile you can find a plain acoustic version with a lot of background noise considering I didn't have my focusrite five years ago.

Would It Be Easier is a song I wrote in 30 minutes about a time when I disconnected from a loved one, and felt this empty feeling within myself. I wanted to share this simple song with anyone else who may have gone through this. Loss, any loss, can be significant.

Aly Jett’s new song “Melt”, produced by Peter DeMore, was created in Southern California during the COVID-19 pandemic.  To maintain social distancing, the song was recorded by Jett and mixed/mastered by DeMore 50 miles away from each other in their homes.  Not only was this song created during the pandemic, but Jett herself caught the coronavirus during the making of this song, causing the initial release to be pushed back.  Jett has now fully recovered and the music video is set to release August 21, 2020 and the single itself will later be released August 28th, 2020. 

Under the lights of open mic stages, Aly Jett has been singing and playing guitar with her loop pedal, writing brand new songs every week in SoCal and driving two hours from her home in Victorville to parts of Los Angeles or Orange County to perform anywhere they would let her. Despite the pandemic taking place, she has still been writing music every week and has plans to release a single once every two months. 

This release comes after facing her own difficulties with having the coronavirus, and Jett almost experiencing the death of her boyfriend who suffered from the virus as well. They both consider themselves to be a team, and while Melt is not about their struggle during this time, there is certainly a sense of underlying strength that comes with being able to release the song together with the help of Jennalyn Alonzo of SoCal Indie Musicians. 

While “Melt” may be about the end of the world, it is certainly not the end of the line for Aly Jett, as there are many more releases in store for the prolific writer.

Aly Jett is an Indie Singer-Songwriter from Southern California.  Her debut singles “Just Alone” and “She Smiled (Inspired by All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven)” were released in early 2020, followed by her first EP “It All Falls Apart” which dropped as the pandemic struck.  The unphased, prolific Aly Jett has slated three more singles to be released throughout the rest of 2020 beginning with “Melt”, mixed & mastered by Peter Demore of Overboard Recording available August 2020.
