Gulzar- Fursat Ke Raat Din - Dil Dhoondta Hai (Commentary By Gulzar)

It seems as if the plea and cry of my old, unreleased/dumped album is heard yet again by Saad Sultan. After Pagalpan, he has Produced ‘Jeenay Key liye’.
 
I remember composing this somewhere in 2006. It was probably the first or second tune that I made in life. I wrote the lyrics about the phase when one is on the verge of a break up and the subconscious is bombarding you constantly with two very contrary signals ; at one point you don’t want to see the other person’s face again EVER and in the next second  you feel as if you’re making a big mistake and won’t survive a day alone. Writing about it makes me realize that I can now relate to Faiz, back then, well...   ‘Aur koi gham NAHIN tha zamanay main muhabbat k siwa’

Saad asked me if I wanted to change the lyrics, I wanted to keep the original since the composition probably isn't contemporary so it’s alright if the lyrics sound stupid too. I have an attachment with this song and I’m glad it’s not just lying there in my hard disk anymore. It’s out there. This is how I started.

The line ‘Jeenay k liye,  Jalna hai agar..,’ was written and composed by Shoaib Rabbani,  I don’t know if he is still doing music. I hope he is. Also, Saad believes there are two more songs in my old album worth producing. Here’s to hoping he takes out time soon. Cheers!
