“Sur la photo de classe, l’innocence est manifeste; et si jeunesse se passe, les souvenirs restent”. C’est avec ces mots que Fred Skitty assoit le décor de son nouveau single, “1983”. 
Un morceau aux allures synthwave où les nappes de synthés et les lignes de basses ont le premier rôle.

Avez-vous déjà eu l’occasion de vous sentir nostalgiques d’une époque que vous n’avez pas connue ? C’est toute la réflexion de base de Fred Skitty, qui revient avec un nouveau single baptisé “1983”. Un hommage synthwave aux plus grands classiques de la variété internationale des années 80 dans lequel elle mixe français et anglais. Un morceau bilingue qui évoque l’influence massive de la culture Anglo-Saxonne et Américaine laquelle favorisée par la mondialisation, racontée à travers le prisme générationnel d’une enfant ayant grandi devant MTV. 
Pourquoi 1983 ? Hormis le fait que c’était il y a 40 ans tout pile (mais non?!) Fred Skitty rappelle que cela correspond à la sortie du premier album éponyme de Madonna dont elle est fan depuis l’enfance, mais aussi à la sortie du mythique album “Thriller” de Michael Jackson. 
À celà s’ajoute une autre raison bien plus personnelle: c’est aussi l’année de naissance de sa grande sœur. Un petit clin d'œil de l’artiste qui avoue avoir parfois regretté de ne pas pouvoir inverser les rôles et ainsi devenir l’aînée, juste pour savoir ce que ça fait de grandir dans les années 80. Un choix de l’année par la suite conforté par la série Stranger Things (l’histoire commence en Novembre 83), dont le succès mondial montre plus que jamais à quel point l'engouement pour cette période reste intact. 
Entre nostalgie et fascination, les années 80 continuent d’inspirer et de faire fantasmer, mais que reste-il 40 ans après ? De nos souvenirs à notre avenir, hommage au monde d’hier, d’aujourd’hui et de demain. “Souviens-toi et raconte-moi’. (Phrase tirée des paroles).

“On the class photo, innocence shows; and if youth passes, memories remain”. This is how Fred Skitty’s new single “1983” begins. These are the words chosen by Fred Skitty to begin her brand new single, “1983”. A synthwave-ish track where synth pads and basslines play the lead role. 

Have you ever felt nostalgic for an era you never knew ? This is exactly what Fred Skitty’s new single “1983” is about. A tribute to the 80’s greatest international hits, in which she mixes French and English. A bilingual track that evoques the massive influence of Anglo-Saxon and American culture favored by globalization, told through the generational prism of a little girl who grew up watching MTV. 

Why 1983 ? Besides the fact that it was 40 years ago, (No way?!) Fred Skitty refers to Madonna’s first album year of release (she’s been a fan since childhood), but also to Michael Jackson’s legendary “Thriller” album. 

There is also another one reason a little more personal : 1983 corresponds to her older sister's birth year. 
A little wink from the artist who often confessed she wished she could swap their places so that she could be the older sister, just to see what it was to grow up in the 80’s. 
The choice of the year was enhanced by the “Stranger Things” series (the story begins in November 1983) whose global success shows more than ever that the 80’s enthusiasm never faded. 
Between nostalgia and fascination, the 80’s continue to inspire and captivate, but what’s left 40 years after ? From our memories to our future, a tribute to the world of yesterday, today and tomorrow. “Remember and tell me” (taken from the lyrics, in French in the text).
