DIVINE is Amanie Illfated’s sophomore album set to be released on July 9, 2023. It contains 12 tracks that tell the story of self-awakening after rising from the depths of darkness, falling in love, the great return to East Africa, overcoming differences and celebrating cultural identities all while being a woman. DIVINE is filled with a vibrant blend of genres - from Reggae, Afrobeat, Pop/R&B, Rock and Dance - all strung together with vulnerable, clever and coy lyrics written in English and combined with Arabic-Juba, French, Nuer,  Shona, Kakwa (Amanie's tribal language) and even Russian. It was also written in 7 countries (South Sudan, Uganda, Canada, Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, United States).

The album boasts an impeccable list of feature artists and producers including Caij0 (Zimbabwean Hip Hop Artist), Emmanuel Jal (South Sudanese Recording Artist), Taabu (Juno Winning record producer), James Bryan (Songwriter, Producer and Guitarist for Prozzäk & The Philosopher Kings), Brother Ahki (Producer, Engineer & Radio Host of Subtle Frequencies) and Xanni (Producer & artist).

Amanie Illfated (pronounced ah-MAH-nee eel-fay-ted) is an award winning South Sudanese born international recording artist who incorporates her personal experiences growing up as a refugee in Canada to deliver powerful messages of empowerment. She has been described as the “African M.I.A.” with “a touch of Chloe Bailey”. Her music consists of thought-provoking lyrics that are mixed with dynamic R&B synths and fused with rhythmic reggae, afropop and trap inspired drums and are combined with her signature clear-toned vocals. 

She released her genre bending album ‘SATURN’ in October 2019 containing multilingual tracks like ‘The Hills’ and ‘You Will Never Know’. Her music has been played on various international radio shows including CBC’s Fresh Air and she has performed on Rogers TV for talk show 'Men 101' and on CTV Morning Regina. Amanie has been showcased and interviewed in magazines such as Canadian Musician and Prairie Dog Magazine.

Additionally, she has performed at numerous festivals such as Afrofest and Francophonie En Fête and at well known venues such as ModClub and Yonge & Dundas Square, at South Sudan Unite 2019 Minneapolis held former NBA Player Luol Deng and at Hollywood North Toronto’s 5th Annual TIFF Gala alongside Just John. She has also shared the stage with highly acclaimed artists P.Square, Dynamq, Emmanuel Jal, NOYZ and Kobo Town.

Amanie won Best R&B Artist of the Year at the 2021 South Sudan Music Awards. She has also received 2 nominations by African Entertainment Awards for Best Female Artist and Musician of the Year by South Sudanese ACE Awards.

She has worked with producers and engineers B.Morales, JT Aylward, Satnam Singh Chatha (5 Rivers Entertainment), and Caroline Akwe (LK Collective) as well as a collaboration on ‘You & Me’ with South Sudanese artist Yaba Angelosi (Assida Records). 

Amanie is currently working on her upcoming album, DIVINE, which is set to be released in spring 2022.
