Huge thank you to the organisers of Extrema Outdoor Belgium for this insane festival weekend !! The biggest electronic music festival since this pandemic. How much did we need this? it felt soooo good to see a mass of laughing dancing humans all together vibing on the beats of techno and house music. It really was incredible. Thank you to the organisation for taking the risk to organise such a big event -within the current covid rules it was definitely not easy but waaw what a success story! It gave all of us so much energy.

AMARE at Afrikaburn 2022 - Boombox

Dear all, 
Here is the live recording of the closing set which I played at Cirque Magique in 2018, Friday night. So, basically, my job was to give the ravers who were camping at the festival, a last dance and then put them to sleep. Thus the set starts with a punch and slowly winds down a bit towards the end. 

This upload is one in a series that should follow, if I keep my resolution to start uploading more live sets, especially the sets from my archives because I have hundreds of recorded sets that I never uploaded, for no reason (I guess I was just always busy and not well organised). 

The occasion to upload this specific one today is of course, that I will play again at this magical festival on Saturday - so I thought it was a nice way to remind you all that you should come and see me play :-)

Finally uploaded the first #burningman mix! 

I played this mix at The Altitude Lounge on Saturday evening during sunset. 
That whole day, it was super dusty and one big white out - the whole day I expected that this gig would be canceled due to the wind and dust. But somehow miraculously, the dust settled down just before sunset and people started to climb up the lounge to watch the sunset. The next DJ was a bit late so I could play a bit longer into the night, an hour or two after that, we gathered around the man for the burn. Only great memories of this night !

Max Tenrom presents his new melodic techno ep entitled 'Piano Ends'. His latest ep 'Morphée' released on 'Faites Leur des Disques' with more than 200 k views on Spotify is still played by many djs from the international scene. He is becoming since the last few months, the number 1 dj in Toulouse thanks to his numerous releases on big labels (Harabe, Cafe de anatolia) as well as the prestigious dates he has chained alongside Anii (Afterlife), Worakls, Jabberwocky in the biggest concert halls in the South of France as well as festivals throughout Europe this summer. After the infamous, illegal Brustem rave in 2023, Playhouse recordings actually got a licence to throw a legal rave party at Brustem (BE) military airport in August 2023. Here is the live recording of my set. 
My set was in the afternoon, so I started gently with some delicate tunes and the set builds up towards the end.

Airport Rave Brustem, Live recording, AMARE

I love feesje, a yearly fundraiser happening in Hamont, booked a 100% Limburg raised line-up with Joyhauser as closing act. 

I was looking forward to playing before Joyhauser and prepared my set in between the busy week of ADE, still making some edits in the car on the way to Hamont. But when I wanted to start playing, the CDJ’s didn’t read my USB stick 🙈- Ended up improvising with the tracks I had on another other USB stick - without my prepared tracks - but it turned out just fine, and I think we all had a lot of fun! 
This set is perfect for running or working out in the gym. I hope it keeps you going for a full hour :-) Enjoy.

Oboe is having a casual chat about the current affairs with the strings, but then Clarinet gives her strong opinion and the orchestra turns quiet for a second. The horns are the first to break the silence, and soon enough also Sax and the strings continue to chatter. Clarinet repeats her statement a bit stronger, followed by an approving applause by the drums. 
The orchestra's hang-out delivers a fabulous fusion of Albanian folklore with techno beats, uplifting percussion and a dirty bassline.

After a busy summer, I finally took the time to listen & upload one of my sets recorded at Tomorrowland. I played a three-hours set in the chill out area (spiegeltent, 6-9pm); more down-tempo than what I usually play at parties (duh :-) ). After 2h40' , a guy jumped into the booth to take a picture with me and accidentally hit the play button, so I had to cut off the recording there. I hope you enjoy it anyway!

AMARE at Bushwick A/V, New York, Aug 12, 2017

Throwback to a memorable party at Palolem beach, Jan. 22nd. Sunset was exactly in the middle of this set, right when the vocal 'follow the sun' comes in. After that, the energy at the party exploded. Still in afterglow when I look back at it! 
Thanks to Sundowners Collective, who brought this bunch of beautiful artists together in Goa.  Despite the struggles with local authorities, this remains one of my highlights of 2018. The word 'collective' in the name couldn't be more right.

April 19, 2018, I had the chance to play in front of Castello Sforzesco during Milan Design Week ! You can imagine what a special experience that was. A three-hour warm up for techno DJ's Bec and Juliet Fox, this set moves from more groovy to harder techno towards the end.

No real Burning Man in 2020 but a virtual reality event - probably the biggest ever held. I played on the boombox artcar - curated by the press play camp from Afrikaburn. 
The set was recorded in my apartment and pasted into the virtual art car placed into the virtual black rock city.

Here's the live recording of my set played at Utopia Festival on September 5, 2020. Yeah that's right, there was a festival in 2020, probably one of the only ones, for sure the best one! 
Set played in the middle of the night so it starts directly with a bang... hope you guys can enjoy it ... especially now that we are back in lockdown (or at least party-restricted) I hope this helps some of you to make a little boogie in your living room... Hope we can dance together again sooner than later, miss you guys and sending you much love and strength in those difficult times !! 
Stay tuned ! I have more recordings which I plan to upload while everyone is at home. 
And don't mind the few mistakes, it was a live recording, it's not flawless (there was even a certain Jerry who couldn't resist turning some knobs while I was playing), but hey, when I re-listened to it I was awed by some of the stunning tracks that I played. Maybe that's why we needed this lockdown, for all that great music that came out this summer !
