About Sputnik

Sputnik is the Electronic Music moniker of Mumbai-based Musician and Producer Shannon George, formed in December 2018 with the release of his debut self-titled EP - ‘Sputnik’. The music is heavily influenced by styles of Drum & Bass like Neurofunk, Jungle, Tech, Funk, Dancefloor and Liquid DnB, as well as some of the heavier sounds of Dubstep, Bass House and Glitch-Hop.

Infused with atmospheric soundscapes, a penchant for melodic songwriting and a steady dose of raw aggressive bass-heavy sounds, Sputnik’s music is a melting pot of Shannon’s various musical influences in Drum & Bass over the years, including heavyweights like Calyx & Teebee, Pendulum, Noisia, Camo & Krooked, Chase & Status, Teddy Killerz, Gydra, Break, Culprate, Agressor Bunx and many more.

Born from alchemy and the desire to transmute the lower basic emotions into creativity, convert chaos into order and a sincere desire to leave his listeners with a sense of F#*k Yeah’ness through meditative listening experiences, music is Sputnik’s purest form of self-expression within the physical plane - a means to inspire people to have, be and do the best that they can in this lifetime while inspiring others to do the same.

About Jetsam
Konchis is a producer & engineer rapidly gaining attention for his unique style and versatility when it comes to production. At the age of 30 he's been honing his craft for 17 years culminating in a back catalogue of literally thousands of beats and a wealth of experience in the studio and on the stage. Part of Scotland’s notorious hip-hop crew The Being, Konchis also writes more experimental bass heavy music under the alias Jetsam. The son of Mr. Defy from the Glasgow crew II Tone Committee, Konchis has had music in his blood from birth. With production influenced by many genres his tracks have flavours of boom-bap, soul, R&B, trap, grime, drill, cinematic, library music, world music and everything in between.

this was probably the most important set i’ve played in my career // with all the shit that’s been transpiring in my life (good + bad + everything in between), this was the catharsis i didn’t know i needed 🌌

i was able to let go of a lot- expectations around what genres could be mixed, the idea that a “supporting” act should stay in the back drop, and more generally societal pressures that keep oneself from being oneself ☯️
