Im starting to think of time as a substance or substrate that generates atmospheres and within these atmospheres cultures can grow. Our own time for the last 600 years or so can be characterized by the clock, the Newtonian universe where God is the watchmaker and life became measurable in isolated moments. The ancient (preliterate maybe) version of time is all-encompassing geometry of the womb that stimulates the hearing, a multi-directional vibration, opposed to the linear visions of reading print or ‘seeing a sight’. The modern world of time is a tautology, the ancient world of time is a tumulus (a dome-like swelling of the earth).
But of course, these notions aren’t static and can play against each other paradoxically depending on dominant attitudes. With the rushing into our senses of the electrical experience, the tribal all-at-once-ness moves us more towards the archetype and away from the cliche. A cliche could be experienced as the congealed perception that creates a blockage in the flow of time and the archetype is an eruption of images from an original, changeless form.

Electric communication has in some sense illuminated the door back into the archetypal consciousness, but if I’ve learned anything from the poetry of Rumi it's that I know the Moon always enters through the window.
Cultures don’t really end, they are refined. Our definitions of time and space dictate this process, and just like the churches that were built from the rubble of the Mayan temples, our own atmosphere of technological superiority is built directly on top of ancient history. Maybe we have such a hard time seeing it because we forgot how to listen...

The spiritual guide leads us along an unexplored path through this record...Each step represents an abstract form, which can be visualized by projecting our experience onto it...
Shaken by sounds coming from somewhere in the outside world, our inner scale, almost the same as Richter's, produces paradoxical values...The only way out seems to be to rise high above the ground...My head grabs the clouds, sinking into their softness and coolness...

- Don't stop! Come on, this way!

This voice of his seems to pull us out of the dream... And so we wanted to stay there - where we are just children, dancing, sinking in the tickling sand of our feet, washed by the ocean... But we must go up... Higher, higher, higher... And so... Around the stars shine, each of them represents a desire, once embodied in one of the infinite variations of the universe. ...In their surroundings everything becomes very clear...Such familiar landmarks that held and dictated where to go and what to do were erased, only crystal understanding remained, that we became this light, looking at those who - Dancing, drowning in the tickling sand, washed by the ocean...

Fusing Japanese and European folk music with disco, Que Sakamoto has created a unique electronic sound which has spread across the globe. From his deep roots in the Tokyo underground, he finds himself outside Japan most of the year on his relentless tours of Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Back home in Tokyo, he is leading the Nu Disco scene in Japan as a founding member of Huit Etoiles.

The stars aligned, our creative force combined, and so this mix became our initiation into Conjuring Spirits.  

We crafted this for a cosy little gathering in a forest close to Berlin, named Die Letzte Wiese, the day was 06.09.2020 
It was a Sunday, the vibe was Hot and we were Fire.

Later on we recorded this sonic diary of the happenings from that day, in a ritual for music (at home).
