Words can't describe yet another sunrise of epic proportions this time at the C.A.M.P. (Calling all Magical People) co-created gathering. Right at the beginning of my DJ set at 4:30 am on July 4th (US Independence Day) the cops showed up to try to shut the party down due to noise complaints.

I had the difficult task of keeping the decibel levels under a certain threshold, so I had to nurture a huge dance floor for the closing set of the festival until 7am somewhat quietly until we were able to ramp up the volume to proper dance floor levels.

I am not sure if it was that we all wanted this so badly, or the majestic rays of sunshine coming down upon us, all I know is that 17 encore songs & tracks after the supposedly closing "Lovely Day" song, we kept raving and raging until we almost dropped.

One of the most memorable mornings in my 21 years of DJ'ing. Here's the recording of the full 4.5 hrs of the closing sunrise DJ set. I hope it takes you all back and for those of you who weren't there I hope it brings you the sunrise  joy and magic we collectively had.

last month I had the honor of playing the famous m.n. roy in mexico city. i played from 3-5am and here is what I played. hope you enjoy it :)

Ever since the first time I saw its twinkling purple lights on the playa horizon, I’ve admired the beautiful Maxa deer and held dreams of playing on it. And this year, on the Thursday night, I had the honor of leading the deer from its camp out to deep playa where it would meet countless other animal art cars in an Animalia link-up! There was talks of a storm coming, and as I boarded the deer, it began to drizzle. I said a little prayer, the rain miraculously stopped, and she began to travel. I can honestly say there is no greater feeling than the one I felt for the two hours that followed, playing music on Maxa’s majestic deer while looking out into a crowd of some of my dearest friends smiling and dancing as more animal art cars joined the party. I remember just as I finished my last track feeling so full of joy and gratitude for everyone around me— my friends, the Maxa crew, the people who stopped for a song and stayed til the end— everyone and everything, I felt so completely thankful. And in that moment, it began to rain, the wind picked up and a massive storm rolled in, almost as if to say, “You’re welcome.”

just nearly one hour from this past friday in mexico city at one of my favorite spots "essex club". lately i've been feeling a bit stumped when faced with the "what kind of music do you play" question. if you could please let me know in the comments what kind of music this is, i would greatly appreciate it. regardless, i hope you enjoy it, even if you can't describe it.

This recording is from Norse Code's Post Man Burn party and it was my 5th gig of 7 this week. I went into it feeling completely run down, with no voice, surviving of cough drops and Propolis spray, exhausted and sleep deprived. But something about this camp and the people who make it up gave me such energy that all of that went out of the door once I got behind the decks. All of a sudden I was at 127 bpm bopping around like a new born baby in a bounce house. It ended up being my most fun gig and one of those gigs that reminds me why I love to do this. Uniting people on the dance floor and seeing everyones smiling faces and hearing the cheers of joy- there truly is no feeling like it! Thank you to Julia for inviting me and being such a supportive bad ass babe, and to Scott for hosting, for the campers and attendees, to my tour manager Richy (lol)  for the support in the booth, Chamboys, Anais, Maxxe, Andreyna +the crew for coming and ripping up the dance floor , and everyone else who was there to dance the night away. Still buzzing from the my dear friend Mira's birthday celebration party, which became a tradition for me to attend over the years (check my last years set's caption for a little backstory) I again had the honor of playing at 47 Katzen Tanzen Auf'm Tisch at Heinz Hopper this past Sunday afternoon after my dear friend, super talented MANTi and before the legend Echonomist. I danced with a lot of friends around the world, heard incredible sets from dear colleagues and friends and I felt like it was a healing experience for me at the right moment and it reconnected me with why I do what I do <3  Happy to share my set from Sunday afternoon, I hope you enjoy

So many of you asked me to release this set. I have to say I was reluctant given how "wide" my music selection was during this night. We found this amazing energy in a Chinatown basement that reminded all of us of the "old Amaya." What a vibe--I had a few tracks planned but I ended up taking a lot of risks because I simply wanted the crowd to have a blast. From techno, to indie, to old rock remixes including some old school house tracks. Hope you enjoy!
