The latest in the slow drip of "Lockdown Sessions" content! I recorded all of this on July 21st, 2020, but never got around to editing it, and the eventually forgot all about it. But here it is! Take a trip down memory lane to 2019, when the Hella Mega Tour was just announced, and Amber Lamps played their still-most-recent show, covering "Grand Theft Autumn" by Fall Out Boy. In 2009, 92.3 K-Rock went away. Then 101.9 RXP went away, then came back, then went away again. This is a song about that. There is a song by Franz Ferdinand, "Walk Away," that inspired this song in a way. Both songs undercut the impotent rage of the narrators, in "I've made a huge mistake" moments. This song is meant to be played LOUD

I was challenged to write a song with "depressing lyrics, but a really happy melody." I immediately thought "whoa-oh, I think I just lost my job," and after that, the song just about wrote itself. Five minutes later I had the first draft of Bitter Ride. It reminds me of a cliched country song, and we love it that way. Grab a shot and drink away the pain with us at our next show!
