Hadiqa Kiyani's brother and music composer, Irfan Kiyani popularly known as Lala, has made a singing appearance onscreen after a long time. The ex-Jupiters' load vocalist had long given up his singing career as he was working with his sister, Hadiqa Kiyani as co-composer and her manager. Irfan comes with a strong classical training background and it is evident in his latest song which is taking rounds on the music channels these days. 'Kahay Ko Tou Yaad Aaye', written by his mother, follows a melodious classical beat with Irfan's impressive vocals making the song a treat to listen to for those who appreciate classical music. The song was actually not meant to be run commercially. "I made it solely for my mother as she fell sick and wrote those beautiful lyrics and she wanted me to sing it," says Irfan. However, later a local channel picked up his song to be used as the soundtrack for a play. "I was a little apprehensive when the channel approached me as they wanted me to appear in the video as well but then I told Hadiqa about it and went ahead with it," Irfan says on his appearance in the video which is made on 35mm by Sohail Javed. Although, Irfan is not sure whether he is going to continue his singing career or not, "I left singing in 1990 when I recorded an album for Jupiters which was released by EMI," recalls Irfan who replaced Ali Azmat in the band which produced singers like Ali Azmat and Salman Ahmed. "I enjoy my freedom working with Hadiqa, people don't know me by face and I actually like that," says Irfan but hints that he would like to continue singing, perhaps not commercially but he will as he loves classical music.
