Overnight Asylum was the introduction track to my second album, 'Overnight Asylum', which was created under my previous alias of RhinoSounds.

Overnight Asylum was an album designed to mimic the pattern of sleep. From conscious thought moving into incoherent babble and then eventually drifting off into the land of dreams. This album encompasses many aspects of the 'sleeping' process, such as lush dreams, nightmares, strange environments, the unknowing and sporadic nature of dreams, and finally, waking up. A few songs from this album were drawn from my own dreams, 'Beach + Eye' being a dream that I have personally suffered from for years.

This is a work in progress, I intend to make it a little longer and add a contrasting section. I'd really appreciate feedback on this one as I did lots of new stuff/techniques etc etc... It's completely different style to my previous tracks, I wanted to try combining Boards of Canada and Massive Attack... Anyway, see what you think! :-)

Electronic/SFX/Atmospheric/Haunting.. Challenging.. warming. Equally calming and unsettling.

Been messing around with DAW's for a while. Composing for the love of messing around with noise and combining it with expression and playfulness. I use weird dreams as inspiration sometimes for soundscaping and environmental based pieces of audio. Trying to use most of the spectral space without it becoming too muddy. Sorry. I try not to call them 'songs'. Post-edit skills are somewhat to be desired.

Glitch and heavy elements. Unusual structures. I enjoy manipulating synths and bass. Pitch bends, quarter tone patterns and key shifting. No expert 🎹
