Four tracks of highly original, impossible to pigeonhole dancefloor, not dancefloor music.

Junto Club are four men from Glasgow who have remained friends since they were teenagers through creating music they love. Whilst learning new instruments during a long winter their sound was fashioned unexpectedly with sporadic melodies overlaid on taut drum machines, synthesizers and bass guitar. Many humble dance moves followed as the band began to carouse behind closed doors with their newly found rhythm.

In early 2015, Italian electronic producer Fabrizio Mammarella aka Telespazio released an excellent debut full length on Hell Yeah, and now the label offers up four tracks from it remixed by modern greats Kito Jempere, Wolf Muller, Harvey Sutherland and Tempelhof.

In original form the album was a truly unique and idiosyncratic journey into a freaky sound world. Now it has new moods and groves layer into it and becomes just as exciting a proposition as a result.

Up first, Russian Kito Jempere, who has previously released on labels like Freerange, serves up a mid tempo, cosmic work out of ‘Glide Shot’ with smeared synths and loosely jumbled percussion. It’s a perfect early evening track before notoriously weird and eccentric producer jan Schulte aka Wolf Muller, who has released great disco oddities on Themes For Great Cities, then goes slow with his take on ‘Barrier’. Slowly percolating percussion, whistling synths, sci-fi melodies and more all make this a proper freaky curveball.

Echovolt man and melodic deep house craftsmen Harvey Sutherland then layers up globular arps with skyward pads and thin, sheet metal hits to craft something that is propulsive yet beautiful. It’s a patient, spacious remix full of summer soul that really makes you feel good.

Lastly, Tempelhof, who have themselves released excellent ambient works on this label before now, turn ‘Nuvolari’ into a a blissful bit of cosmic and atmospheric chug disco. It will have your head reeling back and your eyes scanning the night sky at the same time as making you dance, and closes out another fantastic package from Hell Yeah.

SCHWEFELGELB - Wie die Finger durch den Nebel

Schwefelgelb is the electronic music project of Sid & Eddy. Having carefully straddled the boundaries between Techno, EBM and Electro, the duo is entering 2016 with a 12” release on the new label incarnation of the Berlin based Fleisch collective. Fleisch consists of a group of miscreants known for throwing some of the best curated dark underground dance parties in Berlin, with a focus on sounds ranging from E.B.M., new beat, acid to techno. The metamorphosis of Fleisch into a label could not demand a more fitting debut than Schwefelgelb’s newest sonic discharge. Tight programming, catchy analog synth-bass coupled with well utilized & frenetic shouted vocals echo the golden age of Electronic Body Music. A refreshing progression of sounds moves the style forward without being afflicted with the formulaic and hollow tendencies befallen similar attempts by others acts over the years.

Oda Relicta’s “Ukrainian Insurgent Army” is a union of politics, religion, and music. The controversial agenda of the recording is exposed through 13 connoisseur compositions ranging from military marches to solemn chants to field recordings featured by a rank of artistic collaborations with While Angels Watch, Furvus, :Golgatha:, Dissonant Elephant, Lonsai Maikov, Gnomonclast, Luftwaffe, and Our God Weeps. A complex tapestry of church hymns and procession marches, Cossack patriotic chants and Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen songs is the spirit of a true Ukrainian nationalist. There is no abuse of hackneyed documentaries or copycatting of profane neo-folk genre; instead, there is harmony, passion, and wisdom conserved in laconic sonorities. Triumphing over double standard European political correctness this milestone is released exclusively upon the 70th anniversary of the UIA, celebrated on the 14th of October, 2012.

少年 - Anarchism Boy

Je travaille depuis 10 ans à Madrid et j'ai fait dernièrement la rencontre d'un indien, trancheur de tête en fuite, qui enregistrait ses cérémonies de tuerie. Il travaillait pour un Cartel. La décapitation est une pratique courante au Mexique. La guerre qui sévit entre cartels de la drogue a fait plus de 100 000 mort entre 2006 et 2012. 

Toute décapitation renvoie à l'histoire de Persée allant chercher Méduse mais aussi au sacrifice de Mishima, le meurtre d'Holopherne par Judith, Salomé et la tête de Saint Jean-Baptiste, les photographies de Joel-Peter Witkin.
Les registres du beau, du sublime et du sinistre font intervenir à la fois le sens de la norme et la sensibilité humaine. Le plaisir et la douleur s'entremêlent dans l'ambiguïté de l'expérience intime.

La décapitation triomphe de la panique.

Dans ma poésie, ma musique, la césure compose l'harmonie, et l'intervalle marque la différence de ton. Par contraste, dans l'acte criminel, le sinistre, la coupure amène le négatif.

En observant à Londres, la toile « Le triomphe de Pan » de Nicolas Poussin, je suis convaincue qu'au delà de la dernière porte s'ouvrant sur la nuit, la culture panique attend. Pan veut tout dire, il est synonyme de saturation absolue. La panique ou le retour de la puissance déprédatrice. Notre société divise, récompense l'individu contre la solidarité collective qui seule peut nous sauver de la barbarie.
