This track opened up the Ambient Music Conference in Helsinki on 28 June 2014, and is a collaboration between Ambient Indigo and Northstar11.

Departure From The Nordic Wastelands

"Symfaerā" is part of an ongoing project featuring original music by several musicians from the label Legacy of Thought (LoT) who are constructing a fantasy world inspired by the world of Dungeons & Dragons. Each musician has created a character of their own,  and AI was used to create a back story and a character image.

Here is the story of Symfaerā.

As the legends go, Symfaerā was born under a blood-red moon, a sign of ill-omen among the Eladrin. Her parents, who were renowned warriors and #protectors of the Eladrin people, knew that their child was destined for #greatness. They raised her in the ways of the ranger, teaching her to track prey and to move silently through the #forest. They also instilled in her a deep sense of duty to her people, and a belief that she was meant to protect them from harm.

Despite her parent's guidance, Symfaerā was always an outsider among her people. She had an #otherworldly air about her, and her eyes held a fierce #determination that seemed to unsettle even the most seasoned #warriors. As she grew older, she began to realize that her #destiny was different from that of her peers. She was meant for something more, something greater.

One night, when Symfaerā was still just a young elf, she slipped away from her home and into the dark forest beyond. She wandered for days, driven by an inner voice that she could not ignore. Finally, she came to a clearing where a mysterious figure awaited her.

The figure was cloaked in shadow, but Symfaerā could sense that it was not human. It spoke to her in a language that she did not understand, but somehow she was able to comprehend its meaning. It told her that she was the chosen one, the Guardian of the Eladrin, and that her destiny was to protect her people from an unknown threat that loomed on the horizon.

From that moment on, Symfaerā dedicated her life to the protection of the Eladrin. She trained tirelessly, honing her skills as a ranger and mastering the magic that was her birthright. She moved through the forest like a ghost, never revealing herself to anyone outside of her people.

Years passed, and rumors began to circulate about a mysterious figure who was said to watch over the Eladrin from the shadows. Some claimed to have seen her, but their stories were dismissed as fanciful tales.

It wasn't until Ariann the Triton ranger of Myth Nantar came to the Eladrin lands on a mission to investigate reports of strange happenings in the forest that anyone outside of the Eladrin caught a glimpse of Symfaerā. Ariann was tracking a group of goblins who had been raiding nearby villages when she stumbled upon a clearing where Symfaerā was meditating.

Ariann froze in her tracks, amazed by the sight before her. Symfaerā was a vision of grace and power, her bow at the ready and her eyes focused on some unseen target. For a moment, Ariann felt as if she was in the presence of a god.

But the moment was fleeting. Symfaerā sensed Ariann's presence and disappeared into the forest, leaving the Triton ranger alone and bewildered.

And so the myth of Symfaerā, Guardian of the Eladrin, continued to grow. Few have ever seen her, and fewer still have ever spoken with her. But those who have encountered her, even briefly, speak of her with reverence and awe. They say that she is the protector of the Eladrin, and that she will do whatever it takes to keep them safe from harm.

It was devoid of brightness
Shadowed in black
As dark as the as the inside of a black cat.
The man walked
Along a series of passages
Mysterious and obscure.
He turned a corner
Onto a bright and beautiful garden.
As he looked around in awe 
The ground slowly gave way beneath his feet
And he fell
Screaming silently
Into blackness once more.

Twilight Rising

Based on the flight of the Starship Avalon from the 2016 movie "Passengers", the opening track of the Legacy of Thought release "Interstellar Engines", is a slow yet complex, atmospheric cinematic ambient piece that captures the serenity and vastness of deep space. Inspired by the 90-year voyage of the fictional starship with its 5000 sleeping passengers and crew, the track evokes the quiet passage of time, the hum of the cosmos, and the fragility of destiny before the unforeseen strikes in the form of a devasting meteorite impact, from which the ship gradually recovers.

Descent From The House Of Time

From the October 2025 album "Entropy of Colour",  Colour Kiasma is a cinematic ambient journey inspired by the fleeting brilliance of Finnish autumn, evocative textures and subtle rhythms converge in a kaleidoscope of colour.

The Labyrinthine Portal is a journey into the heart of Mechanus, the plane of ultimate order from Dungeons & Dragons. Atmospheric ambient soundscapes open the track, punctuated by gear‑like textures that echo the endless turning cogs. As the track unfolds, clean sequences and precise percussion emerge, reflecting the clarity and inevitability of the Portal’s pathways.

Polar Sky

This piece is inspired by the opening of the new Finnish Nature Centre, "Haltia", located in Nuuksio National Park, a short drive from Helsinki city centre.  The building is floor-to-ceiling wood including a 200-seat auditorium where performers have a back-drop of Finnish lakes and forests - the Kingdom of Haltia.
