Centre for Research in Autism and Education (CRAE) held a panel discussion entitled ‘Re-thinking autism: Changes to the diagnostic criteria and their implications’ on 8 October 2012.

The event took place at the Institution of Education and welcomed panel members Wendy Lawson (distinguished autistic self-advocate and writer), Gillian Baird OBE (Consultant Paediatrician, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust), Will Mandy (Clinical Psychologist and researcher at University College London) and Jolanta Lasota (Chief Executive of Ambitious about Autism). 

Each guest speaker presented their thoughts on the proposed changes to DSM 5 (the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) before questions were taken from an audience of over 300 guests.
