Kevin McHugh aka Ambivalent returns to Mobilee with his second full release under his more house-inclined alias Amber.  Having launched the alias with the Waves of Grain EP in January, McHugh has already graced several parties as Amber this year,  playing a classic NYC/Chicago house-influenced sets (with an Amber set at Richie Hawtin's ENTER. night at Space Ibiza set for September).  Meanwhile McHugh continues to evolve his Ambivalent techno productions, with a hugely popular recent acid remix of Danny Daze on Jimmy Edgar's Ultramajic label, and a collaboration with Michael L Penman on Tronic that continues to climb the techno charts.

The Amber project is one of several McHugh is maintaining at the moment. Originally starting as part of the collaborative project Jake & Amber, their 'This Is Mine' release kickstarted a wave of creativity that allowed the NYC/Berlin producer to explore more melodic sounds influenced by the house music he loves.  Having signed the first batch of productions to Mobilee, this second EP is led by perhaps the biggest of all the Amber tracks so far, 'Keep It Gone', which loops its insistent vocal hook over a continuously swelling and subsiding bassline, retaining a sharp acid edge to counterbalance the track's sweeter vocal-inflected side.  

This balancing act plays out in the EP's two other cuts, 'One Touch' and 'Pentagon', with both tracks constructed around ominous, powerful bass patterns, illuminated by flashes of synth melody and skittering vocal samples.

Since Maxime Dangles' contribution to our head honcho Gregor Tresher's 'Breaking New Soil Vol. 7' early 2015 we received several fantastic new oevres from the frenchman. It wasn't easy to decide which ones to release but Sian (Octopus Records) gave us a hand and focussed on 'Fokal' for his remix! Anyway we are proud to release Maxime's debut EP for Break New Soil and  are curious how you share our taste.

KAISERDISCO are quickly back and banging on 100% Pure, the celebrated German superpower following this year’s ‘Freedom’ EP with some true techno locomotion.

‘Seismic’ aims to trouble the tectonic plates beneath your dancing feet with a ceaseless, chafing throb, its filtered fear factor mushrooming into an awesome cauldron of pressure until releasing and blowing off a typhoon of steam.

‘Crackpot’ is a techno centaur bearing the head of a popping, bongo-busting rhythm looping itself inside out, and a jackhammer body striking iron upon iron. Both elements bow down to the hiss of razor sharp hi-hats as KD leave you happily gasping for breath.

The release opens with ‘Gentle’ – yet not similar to its name with a dominant kick drum and a vocal chant giving the tracks an ethereal tone. This is the one track which has a debut remix from 9th House, taking things a little more jacking with experimental and heady percussive notes.

Composed 4/4 track ‘The Prophecy’ builds energetically with an infectious, seamless and uplifting rhythm, while broken beat ‘Call To My Beloved’ is a perfect dawn and dusk track - its body moving and mind melting modulations capturing from the first note to the last.'
