Noise, our voices become noise, our names become noise, inaudible, unheard, filtered out. 

The piece serves as a ritual, a mantra, a magical spell, presenting 1464 names, female names, invisible names, to the concert hall. Composers who are “simply not there” are simply here, we “cannot rewrite history”, we are not the ones rewriting herstory.

Just for fun, this was written for a 10 minute composers challenge, 10 minutes to write a piece. So I gave each performer a news story, in vague haiku form, with rests and timings thrown in and they were asked to convey that news story in any way they wanted to. 

The 3 stories are: 

1) Guitar - The badgers and being gassed, for no apparent reason, apparently it's a vote winner with cows, what bastards the cows must be.

2) Trombone - The bees are saved! Pesticide ban, bees, bees, fuzzy, happy, bees are safe, bees.

3) Drums - I smashed my bike bell today, I dropped my bike, I'd only had it 2 days and I had never rung it.
