Label SYS Sister Sounds (SSS) releases all Asian female and non-binary compilation ‘Unity,’ with all proceeds going to Palestine charity PARA Foundation.

The compilation houses production from 7 Asian music producers from all around the world including Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, China, Netherlands, Thailand and Canada, Uniting together to release a compilation that binds Asian diaspora together for a good cause.

With heartfelt storytelling and compelling sonic productions, genres include, dance, electronic, house, hip hop and ambient from producers Maggie Tra, nabii, Zeadala, masheen, ephemeral objects, DWAMS featuring earthangelbaby and Ambu Bambu. 

On the compilation, SSS founder Maggie Tra said, “As Asian artists’ today, we feel so helpless with what’s going on. Music is what we know, so we wanted to connect together and release something that could go towards helping the people in need,”

“I feel so grateful to have these producers jump on board on this, this is what SSS is all about, and that’s the beauty of uniting together. We want to send a message of hope and togetherness,” she said. 

This is the second compilation released by SSS, with the first compilation ‘Grounded’ released in 2023. SYS Sister Sounds Label is run by Maggie Tra and aims to release music from Asian women and NB people around the world.

The label has emerged as a trusted discovery platform, which promotes curiosity, diversity, inclusivity and connection. Profits from the compilation will go towards charity PARA Foundation, an organisation based in Australia. Palestine Australia Relief and Action (PARA) helps Palestinian migrants and refugees live safe, happy, and fulfilling lives in Australia.

Ambu Bambu is a DJ and producer from Groningen, known for blending genres like breakbeat, electro, bass, and experimental techno, often incorporating elements of her Chinese heritage. She’s performed at venues like DGTL x Boiler Room, Down The Rabbit Hole, and Sisyphos, and debuted with Australian label SYS Sister Sounds.

Her monthly Relate Radio show, Electronic Identity Crisis, dives into experimental electronic music while discussing identity, belonging, and multidisciplinary artistry. Whether as a music programmer or DJ, Ambu Bambu pushes electronic music's boundaries, taking listeners on an unpredictable, captivating journey.

KLEM Music presents Tales of the Silent Hyphae, its first Various Artists compilation.

Drawing inspiration from the concept of hyphae—botanical structures that form the foundation of mycelium—the release explores eerie, liminal soundscapes, blending ambient, experimental, drones, hyperpop, and more. The 10 tracks feature FLINTA producers, including INVERNO (label head), Ambu Bambu, FLAX, Guenter Råler, ionzi, Joa Luna, elisanyhm, Sarkha, Sonic Concrete, and Waterblip, each offering a unique take on the theme.

The stunning artwork by Maria Louceiro captures the ethereal essence of the compilation, with soft blues and abstract textures evoking a dreamlike atmosphere.

Available digitally and on cassette, Tales of the Silent Hyphae invites you into a surreal, introspective world where sound grows like roots, branching into hidden realms.

A soft spoken personality with a musical vision and creativity that screams. Hear me, feel me, move with me. Ambu Bambu’s music tells emotional stories of wanting to belong, yet fated to a destiny of floating in between. Urgent and rhythmic, with the occasional moment of lightness and release, their selections and productions span realms from breakbeat and bass, to dubbed-out fuzziness and oddball house and techno tracks just weird enough to make you doubt their genres. 

Equipped with a style that is difficult to put a finger on, yet is ever so recognizable, their drop in the pond has become a waterfall. Their welcome appearance in the Dutch underground scene is illustrated by key performances at RAUM, Down The Rabbit Hole and POING. Explorations into scenes abroad have been made, with appearances in Brussels, Berlin, London, and their fully self-booked The Motherland Tour through China. At the same time, they’re tethering through residencies at @relateradio and @sisu_crew, showing a strong desire to connect wherever they go.
