Rocket

Journeyman are a new production duo from London. Formed at the end of 2012 they moved straight into the spotlight with their killer remix of Drum & Bass anthem Carry Me On by Brookes Brothers feat. Chrom3, earning them specialist support from the likes of B.Traits and Andy Durrant.

Journeyman are now set to make their full artist debut on NewState Music, with the release of double a-side single: Get Closer / Sideways.

Kicking off proceedings is ‘Get Closer’, an immersive slice of future house music, featuring the sultry vocals of Claudia Georgette. This classy track fuses some of their influences, which range from soul and jazz to classical, resulting in this top-notch production.

Sideways is a weightier house workout that heads straight to the club. This banger features further trademark bleeps, cut up chanting vocals, and one of the best basslines you’ll hear this year!

Both tracks come with radio, club, and instrumental mixes.

Formed by a combination of an old friendship and a passion for music, the duo took their production name from the old boxing term ‘Journeyman’.

Under various guises, Journeyman have already achieved success in other electronic genres, racking up playlist support on Radio 1 & 1Xtra and playing to masses of fans at festivals, and clubs all over the globe.

This level of musical experience and maturity is highlighted and reflected in the Journeyman sound: it has warmth, depth, and does damage on the dancefloor.

This debut release is set to be a future classic, with the enigmatic Journeyman poised to become one of the most exciting new forces in the house music scene.

dialogue from the movie Arrival. left synth is the Moog System 55 using 5 oscillators! right synth is 2 VCOs from the MOTM with an STG Mankato filter on the lower VCO and a dot.com transistor ladder filter on the upper VCO. warbly lead is a Korg MS-20 and the strings are on an OB-6. I switched the drums to a TR-8 909 kit, it fit the mix better than an actual 808. removed the global compressor and each track is now compressed with a 1176LN and Teletronix LA-2A in serial. seems to be a better balanced track that way. individual synths are panned left and right so the drums can have it's own space. A little Lexicon 224 was also added to the drum track.

The sound scapes are created using a blending of ancient and modern sounds to guide take you through a journey of deep meditation. Combining traditional instruments like gongs, cymbals, bowls, native flute, and didgeridoo with contemporary tools such as synthesizers, electric and bass guitars, drum machines, and a variety of effects pedals.  

My music creates a dynamic, moving soundscape designed to assist in reaching meditation and a deeper understanding of your true essence through connecting to your spirit.
