Premiere: Konalgad - Layers Dissolve

Damascus Red Sky is the first single off 'Tristaris'. Almost four years in the making, this is the third full-length album by Stefan Bachvarov as Cyberian. It continues the immersive journey through the realms of contemporary electronic music begun on his previous albums, which at times feels airy and frail, but quickly becomes heavier, faster, and more aggressive. This happens across many dimensions. 

On the surface, Cyberian’s tracks feel more straightforward, but the closer you experience ‘Tristaris’, the further you reach within its intricately intertwining layers of hard-hitting percussion, melancholy-drenched melodies, hypnotising ambiance, and meticulously orchestrated sonic details that swirl around you, making the producer’s vision even more vivid. These elements create a constant build-up, not only emotionally but in terms of tempo and intensity. It's the first time we've heard Cyberian's signature sound unfold at this BPM, allowing his music to reach a whole new level of energy and emotional charge.

About the mix:
This was recorded live and direct from the desk in Tokyo roughly two years ago.
For me, when it comes to house music, I always look back to the masters (as many do), but specifically to the radio mixes of Farley Jackmaster Funk, Timmy Regisford, and Boyd Jarvis.

The dynamic blending of freestyle, new wave, American disco, Italo, and the experimental dance tracks of that era was innovative and represented the true genesis of what dance music is: mixing different styles and making it all make sense together while completely blowing listeners’ minds.

When I play, I hope to pull fragments from this long-forgotten era and give the crowd something they may have been missing for a long time — with modern reverence and deep respect for the days of old.

A first taste of what awaits us on November 29th at Basic.

PsychillI’m revisiting the first Zenlike Creature album and, I guess, tweaking the mix and remastering. Whilst I am very proud of my work, I’ve learned so much over the last few years that I listen back and wish I could have mixed it better.

Now, I know some folk are purists (see the Star Wars back against George and the 97 reissues) but all I want to do here is enhance what I wrote and produce, not add anything that wasn’t there in the original. Just a better balanced mix and master.
