From a young age on, the Dutch and formerly Belgium-based AMEKMAR has been passionate about music and all it has to offer. Ever since getting her first cassette tapes, followed by a Discman and CDs, music was played all day, every day.

AMEKMAR has a wide interest in music from artists of various genres, such as Duke Ellington, Nirvana and Cherry Moon Trax – to name a few. Their music has provided her with far-reaching insights into what music means to her and what it can mean to others. Once she felt the joy and excitement of standing behind the turntables and sharing the endlessly sought music with others, the microbe of deejaying settled deeply into her body. During her deejay sets, AMEKMAR knows how to keep the crowd moving by serving uncompromising, dark, energetic and yet somewhat mysterious techno, always including a decent and refreshing selection of records.

Currently, both the pursuit of an academic degree as well as creating and playing music are what is keeping her busy. AMEKMAR can be described as an ‘all-or-nothing’ individual who goes after what she seeks by working her head off for it. Her goals remain dependable and straightforward: learning and getting better each day and developing as a person and artist by seeking to push her own boundaries.

Her musical talent and growth haven’t been left unnoticed. Her development is paying off and has already taken her to venues in The Netherlands, Belgium and France, such as BASIS, Club Vaag and Racanze – but also festivals like Dour, Extrema Outdoor, Tomorrowland and Verknipt. Besides performing, she has also been making steps production-wise. With releases on Coincidence Records, Everyone on Acid and Tabulat, as well as in the process of creating her first EP, she can be noticed as fast-growing.

Now, her first solo EP is set to come out in 2025, marking an exciting new chapter in her musical journey.

Quarantine livestream Club In The Cloud X VICE

Tabulat unleashes its seventh release delivered by no one other than Indepth. After impressive outlets on Etruria Beat, Prospect Records and Autektone Dark, Tabulat is thrilled to welcome the Israel-based artist to the imprint. The powerful ‘Metaphysical EP’ contains two thriving originals, as well as a splendid remix by Dutch prodigy AMEKMAR.

The EP initiates with the title track ‘Metaphysical’, being an unadulterated peak-time weapon. Solid drums and uplifting percussion pave the way for 303-flecked arps and nostalgic plucks to kick in. The combined harmony of sounds steadily modulates towards a mind-bending and earth-shaking climax.

The second track ‘In Secret’ can hardly be called a B-sider. This offering takes the atmosphere to higher levels right from the start. While flirting with the edge of hard trance, Indepth succeeds once again in composing a perfect dance floor gem filled with momentum and suspense.

Over the last year, Dutch-based AMEKMAR has thoroughly been catching the eyes and ears of the contemporary scene. After her debut EP on the Belgian Coincidence Records, Tabulat gladly welcomes this promising Dutchie to the imprint.
