'Funky Skunk' is an hour long hip-hop mix, showcasing the finest tracks from over the last few decades. The majority of the set focuses on the early stages of the genre, with Shadow selecting the best in 80's hip hop and early electro - where tracks were made the good old fashioned way; a tight loop of beats, sampled breaks, primitive scratching and an MC. There are also freakout pysch moments and absurd rapid breaks perfect for any budding samplers out there. Biographie 
LaCraps, de son vrai nom Ali, né en 1985 à Roubaix (59), 
est un rapeur d'origine franco-algérienne (Batna).

Issu d'une famille modeste, il fait ses armes dans la rue avant d'atterrir dans le sud, principalement motivé par des ennuis judiciaires.

Etant influencé par différents courants musicaux allant de la scène hip-hop française (NTM, lunatic, movez lang...), à des artistes mondialement reconnus (Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson...).

il est à l'aise sur tous types d'instrumentales, il s'adapte vite et bien.

Un phrasé technique, des textes à la fois virulents et engagés, LaCraps ne mâche pas ses mots.

Il fait ses débuts en 2008 au studio Lask'art Prod à Avigon (84),
où il participe à divers projets musicaux qui n'ont malheureusement pas pu aboutir.

Il décide alors de s'installer à Montpellier(34) et se retrouve au sein du Label "La Classic Record" où il sort son prochain projet "Machine à écrire" en Octobre 2014 !

In celebration of the genre’s 50th year, we’ve teamed up with London based ‘Classic Material’ to present a chronologically themed series of mixtapes celebrating the history of recorded Rap music, mixed by Chris Read. Alongside the Hip Hop series, this companion Breaks series takes our re-cap of Rap History a level deeper, this time reconstructing the classics of the Hip Hop canon from their constituent sample material. Arranged chronologically of course, this tenth volume pieces together popular Hip Hop tunes from the year of 1995, utilising only the Funk, Soul & Jazz tracks from which they were originally constructed – over 80 breaks in the mix! Artwork pays homage to Paul Winley’s iconic ‘Super Disco Brakes’ compilation series.
