Amelie Lens once again joins forces with rising French producer AIROD for an electrifying 4 track Techno expedition in ‘Raver’s Heart EP’.

Following their first collaboration on ‘Adrenaline’ for Amelie’s Exhale Records compilation late last year, Belgium’s Techno luminary and French dynamo AIROD will release a 4 track ‘Raver’s Heart EP’ with Amelie on her label Lenske Records. After their first collab held the top spot in the Beatport charts for weeks after release, it’s clear that Amelie & AIROD's productions are the outcome of a powerful synergy between two of Techno's finest producers.

The record opens with a blistering kick drum and unrelenting snares in ‘Join Us’. A 303 laced with dense industrial distortions drives the bass line before any effects are stripped back, allowing the acid sound of the 303 to pierce through. Stabbing synthesizer keys create a trancey & fast paced melody, while Amelie’s voice swirls in and out whispering mischievous commands.

Title track ‘Raver’s Heart’ steps up next, opening with a hurried percussion that creates an overwhelming intensity from the offset. Amelie’s voice echoes ‘they can never stop us’, which is chopped up and layered upon itself before submerging into the bass line. A squelching synth briefly takes over before industrial elements and the iterated vocal surge back in to command the listener.

Constituting a classic Amelie x AIROD sound on the flip side is ‘Escape’, with rumbling synths and belting kick drums that tauntingly build energy and anticipation. Claps ring out and snapping hi-hats join the sonic storm. Celestial keys chime gently over the building percussion, until a powerful synth melody takes charge and drives the track towards the finish.

The EP closes with peak time roller ‘Space Program’, a slower but brooding techno cut that employs an omnipresent kick drum to drive through the interstellar soundscape. The track splices its rolling bass with scattered minor keys, while hi-hats, cymbals and snares crash furiously around bellowing synth chords.

It is with a feverish excitement that we can finally announce the next EP in our catalog from our newest addition to the Second State family: Amelie Lens. Besides being quite a multi-talented virtuoso, the Belgian artist comes in hot and heavy for her debut release ‘Let It Go’ and with it showcases her prowess for dark, cutting-edge techno. Over the span of four tracks Lens takes us on a tour-de-force journey into the cerebral spaces of large, dark rooms and flashing strobe lights. Kicking things off is the hypnotically inducing 'Wild' with looping vocals laid over an ever increasing pressure of percussion and white noise. Much like the EP opener, 'Linger On' casts the same spell yet picks up the pace with racing snares and meteoric synth washes creating a deeply euphoric ride. The title track ’Let It Go' is up next and is by far the most 'cheeky' tune of the EP with a twisted acid line swirling around the constant begging of Lens’ voice encouraging you to "Let It Go, Let It Out". Rounding out the EP is 'The Finest Hour' and Lens wraps up her debut with the most psychedelic cut of the package. Low rumbling bass tones and spaced out pads over sparse drums leave lots of room for the imagination providing each listener to create their own journey to navigate. If this is Amelie Lens' debut with us, we expect a lot of very big things to come from the young Belgian and so should you. Welcome Amelie Lens!

One would be hard pressed to find another artist whose meteoric rise parallels that of Belgium’s most exciting new export, Amelie Lens. She has, in a little more than a year, soared from relative anonymity to one of todays most in-demand DJ/Producers the world over. With her debut release on Italian imprint Lyase gaining a massive amount of attention, Amelie seized the moment and quickly delivered her first release on Pan-Pot’s highly lauded label Second State and followed shortly after with a stellar EP on one of the undergrounds most championed outfits ARTS. At the same time her releases started to flow consistently on high level labels, Amelie started her own event EXHALE at Labyrinth Club where she invites todays hottest acts as well as her “All Night Long” sets which prove she embodies an equal mastery to that of her peers with years more experience. With these critical foundations laid, it was no time before she began headlining the industries most acclaimed events. From Awakenings and Circoloco to today’s best clubs like DC-10 Lens commands an intense touring schedule trotting to all corners of the globe on a weekly basis.
