Last Dream Before Dawn

This is the sister track to Terronoia, it closes the album. Where Terronoia was meant to illicit a fearful or morose feeling in the listener, we hoped with Terrannoyed, a glimmer of hope could be heard in the notes. We hope you enjoy the pair. -Nathan

Terrannoyed

State of Decay was the third song we wrote as a band. You can find the demo version of this song in our "DemoListen" set (and download it!) We made a few changes to the tune when we went into the studio to record "Whisper Campaign". The lyrical theme revolved around the year 2008 and all that came with it (though the title may have come from a Doctor Who episode ;)

This is the first song in a three song cycle that deal with the topic of relationships. I went into the studio with the synth chords and Kyle brought in the arpeggios at the end. The rest just came out of nowhere in the studio from everyone. -Nathan 

Operator

This track segues right out of Operator and as you might have guessed follows a similar theme lyrically as the previous tune. The Bmaj, Amaj, Gm arpeggio pattern that begins the piece remains underneath everything else through the entire song. We played a lot with adding and removing parts or layers to create moods. 

This is one song I really wish we had access to a Mellotron for. I'm not completely happy with the choral patch on my Korg X50 featured after the second chorus. 

The song is about a relationship gone wrong and you've known it for a while.  -Nathan




Variable

This is the third song in our trilogy about relationships, though it was actually the first one we wrote. This song takes a look at a relationship that is going pretty well. One of my favorite parts is at the very end, with Chronos hitting hard and Jameson wailing over top of it...pretty heavy for a love song. 

I'm sure it's obvious by now that the naming convention, Operator, Variable & Constant is following a math theme.

Prizards or "Projected Lizards" is a song about the theories proposed by the English ex-footballer David Icke. In short, Icke believes all world leaders are actually shape-shifting reptilian extraterrestrials. Yeah. 

This is the big piece from our debut album, at 13 minutes it may take a couple listens to sink in. It started as a drum and bass piece between Chronos and I, though Kyle and Jameson came in and added massive contributions. -Nathan

American Hollow - Prizards

This was the last song we wrote for the album. Kyle came in with a bunch of riffs and we whittled away at them with a chainsaw until we came up with this monstrosity. It was hella fun to write and even is funner to play.

Blow Wind! Bring Forth Storm

American Hollow aspires to bring a mix of progressive, metal, Drum Corps and classic rock styles together in a manner that does not easily fit into any prescribed genre. The Hollow men are continuing their exploration of the musical horizon, with hopes of bringing their aural concoction to as many people as possible. The foundation of American Hollow has always rested on the friendship of those involved and a desire to transcend any boundary, whether external or internal.
