Ewok hóf leika á stuttu Spooky setti til að hita upp fyrir Spooky kvöldið 14. október. Kocoon tók svo stutta skorpu áður en Nærvar tók málin í sínar hendur. Tandri kláraði svo keyrsluna og var nokkuð ljóst af tónlistar valinu að drengirnir voru að koma sprækir frá Berlín.

Astvaldur (aka Ástvaldur Axel Þórisson) is a musician, a sound enthusiast and a multidisciplinary artist. Starting at a young age with his musical endeavor, the ascertainment to electronic music was an incision which shaped his approach, leading to the current project; Astvaldur. Exploring a fine composite of sound design, complex patterns and club-influenced schemes, his work is a personal revaluation of the boundaries within these. 

His debut album, "At Least", was released in February 2017 on  Berlin’s Oqko label (of which he is a member). Its mix of electro-acoustic manipulations and densely textured electronic soundscapes drew praise ad coverage from such publications as Groove Magazine, XLR8R, DJ Mag, Hyponik, The Ransom Note, Inverted Audio, Mixmag France, and Electronic Sound Magazine. 

Astvaldur has performed live at a number of festivals and venues both abroad and at home in Berlin and Iceland. Selected dates include a month-long tour through Mexico with shows at Departamento, Caferoma and the Fonoteca Nacional, Secret Solstice and Dark Music Days festival in Reykjavik, and Berghain Kantine and Griessmühle in Berlin, Worm in Rotterdam, Nii in Moscow and Detail in Paris.

The latest release from Iceland’s FALK Records in 2018 is a limited-edition cassette release of Krakow born, now Reykjavik residing, DJ and producer ERZH. Titled "Death is a True Prophet", it will be his debut release and will be available to purchase from the label’s bandcamp, as well as local record shops.

Hailing from the Polish city of Krakow, ERZH (aka Maciej Ścibor) was forged in the city’s bustling and vibrant underground electronic scene. Beginning as a DJ for underground raves in the cellars of the city’s abandoned hotels, it was during 2015 that ERZH broke out and began organising his parties. Starting off at the cult venue Bomba, Ezrh made a name for himself in the local techno clubs of Krakow, where he was a guest performer of the Deep Impact collective and performing guest sets on the local radio station (Off Radio Kraków) Essentia Electronica.

In 2016 ERZH joined Nashton Records - a record label and a collective of artists from Lyon and Krakow. Hosting local events that played hard and fast with their techno sounds, they hosted such artists and producers as Dax J and I Hate Models, alongside the artists and DJs from the label. After the success of these events, ERZH moved to Reykjavik, Iceland in 2017 where he currently performs and DJs in the local electronic music scene.

For his debut release, Death is a True Prophet, ERZH was heavily influenced, not only by his intellectual studies cognitive neuropsychology and consciousness studies, but also in the philosophical concepts such as Biocentrism (presented by Robert Lanza) and the works of Thomas Metzinger. What this results in is an album where tracks such as “Who” and “I Die Everyday” combine raw synth lurches with throbbing bass lines and punching rhythms, with the likes of “Primal solitude” showcasing a darkside techno sound that stomps the dark alleyways at night, complete with howling acid sounds. Meanwhile the cold, creeping beats of “Ptarmigan,” with its crepuscular atmospheres, are eerily reminiscent of Pye Corner Audio having a massive comedown.

A one-man power-electronics/industrial noise project
from Reykjavík, Iceland. A powerful wall of sound under
heavily distorted vocals. Rhythmic, loud, and aggressive.

BIO:
After working in numerous metal and experimental projects, Aðalsteinn Jörundsson decided
in the summer of 2008 to pair a selection of his poetry with his experimental noise sounds to
create a new project, AMFJ. By the end of that year he had already made his mark on nearly
every Reykjavík venue, raising hell and wreaking havoc along the way.
AMFJ's inaugural cassette, Itemhljóð & Veinan, was released on FALK (an artist run
label/art society) in May 2009 and was produced by Jóhann Fr. Jóhannsson (7oi). The
release gained some media attention, mainly through The Reykjavík Grapevine, a local
English-language magazine, which wrote of the offering “There’s a point where art-music
becomes almost transcendentally self-indulgent and that is the point at which it also becomes
magnificent.” Florian Zhulke, a music writer for The Grapevine, also listed the cassette among
his top 5 Icelandic releases of 2009 in a year-end review.
Over the course of 2010 AMFJ sporadically released The Modern AMFJ Compendium of
New Musics for Headphone Listening Single Series, which, as the title implies, is a series
of mp3 singles that were composed to be enjoyed strictly via headphones to reach a hypnotic
state, and to modify the perception of ones surroundings by altering the listeners audio
experience. It went critically unnoticed, mainly because the tracks were released online
without promotion. Some compositions were used as building blocks for tracks on AMFJ’s
subsequent release, Bæn (2011).
Bæn is AMFJ’s most ambitious release to date. It was produced by Valdimar Jóhannsson
(Reykjavík! Nine Elevens, Lazyblood) and has received critical acclaim in media, both in
Iceland and abroad. The aim of Bæn was to execute all the usual aspects of power
electronics and noise with a new angle and different approach in its sound, feel, and visual
aesthetic, thus building upon an otherwise two-dimensional genre.
Whether fast and furious, or calm and pensive, all AMFJ shows have intensity in common.
Ranging from 25-40 minutes in length, they are filled with mesmerizing feedback loops, mixed
with loud, beat oriented playbacks, and feature heavily sound-altered vocals presented with a
powerful and often theatrical performance, leaving no one untouched.
