In 2019 I hastily made an audio piece during my artist residency at The Lookout Arts Quarry. I was painting and creating multimedia visual art pieces around three images and themes: Lobsters, Teeth, and Vulvas, and at the last minute I decided I wanted an audio component, so I recruited friends to send me voice memos - anything they wanted to say at all about any or all of those three themes. At the time, I didn't have internet, nor did I know how to fade any of the tracks, so I wove the piece together crudely to the best of my ability. I really enjoy listening to the voices of my loved ones telling stories and sharing thoughts on these three themes, and I hope you enjoy it too.

Pulling Teeth - An Audio Tapestry about Teeth, Lobsters, & Vulvas.

Following my first exploration into audio projects with Pulling Teeth, I made a similar, slightly longer piece around the three themes of Velvet, Moss, and Cannibalism. I call these projects Audio Tapestries because they feel like roughly woven patterns made out of mismatched scraps. Everytime I listen to them, I am reminded of how many wonderful people I know, and how many fascinating stories they each carry around with them.
