رهیدگی برابر با رهایی نیست. «رهایی» یک مفهوم انتزاعی است که می‌تواند نُمود بیرونی داشته یا نداشته باشد. داستانِ «رهیدگی» ولی چیز دیگری است. «رهیدگی» از صفت مفعولیِ «رهیده» و با افزودنِ «یا»ی مصدرساز ساخته شده است؛ پس بارِ معنایی صفت مفعولی (رهیده شدن) را با خود دارد. «رهیدگی» تنها زمانی صدق می‌کند که پیش از آن، «بردگی» و «در-بَند-بودگی» وجود داشته باشد. پس حس شیرین «رهیدگی» همراه با یادآوری‌های تلخ و گاه برافروزاننده‌‌ی «در-بَند-بودگیِ» پیشین است. قطعه‌ی «رهیدگی» تَراوَنده‌ی چنین حسی است.
