My name’s Lucie (she/her) and I live deeeep in South London.

This set was originally recorded at Goo Night in Spanners, a snug, intimate venue in South East London. Imagine a roomful of free, sweaty bodies moving to the rhythm, surrounded by dense red-tinted haze. The atmosphere was sexy and sticky that night. 

A little disclaimer regarding the recording. I had to re-record the second part of the set at home due to sound quality but the essence of it is in no way compromised 🙂

+ 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫?
I wanted to put together a set focusing on spaciousness and the interplay between heady depth and liberating playfulness, exploring ways in which the two can meaningfully coexist. The idea was to allow the audience to release their body fully on the dancefloor so obviously there had to be a good amount of energy running through the veins of the set. But at the same time, I really wanted to tickle their minds, open doors to imagination, introduce depth so if one really listens in, there is a whole world of sonic magic to explore - a complexity both sonic and emotional. 

+ 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮r 𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐛𝐨𝐱 / 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐠?
The process always starts with digging for new music that sets the tone for the playlist or when packing my record bag. I look for a specific flavour of sounds for each gig, thinking about the context in which I will be playing and trying to understand what possible directions I can take. 

Once I select those fresh tracks, I start building the rest of the playlist around it, first more generally and as I listen back with the set approaching, I keep refining it until it feels like it has enough substance. At the same time, I make sure it is generous enough so I can cover a lot of ground if the gig goes in a different direction than what I expected. It’s always a balance of keeping one’s artistic integrity while working with the crowd to create a powerful experience for everyone.

Terra Obscura is a collaborative event I run together with my close friend Alicia. We started the series back in March 2022 at Ormside Project which is still our home to this day. Me and Alicia have an impressive overlap in terms of music taste but we are also quite good at challenging each other's ideas which I believe is important for a healthy growth of any project. We are both into a lot of deep, intricate music within the ambient & downtempo, techno, breaks & bass realm to give you a very rough idea about our programming. 

When we are building a line-up, we always throw around a lot of names and then try to find a common thread among the artists we want to book. We imagine how their sound would work in a particular slot and how their sets would flow into each other so there is a sense of development throughout the night. This process is usually quite long but in some ways really intuitive. 

What is very important for us is to approach the event as a whole, a night that effortlessly moves forward along a curatorial narrative, one step at a time from the start to the very end, moving from horizontal ambient to sweaty dance as it progresses.

A highly-regarded talent established at the forefront of Tokyo's vibrant underground club scene, mu"he has built an unquestionable reputation as a multi-genre DJ with the versatility to both build up a room and command the peak hours of a rave. Balancing introspective selections with outbursts of collective jouissance, there is careful intentionality behind her mixing philosophy rooted in the history of communal dance floor experience. Based in Berlin since May 2023, mu”he has been quickly booking appearances at some of Berlin’s best clubs and festivals across Europe–most notably: TILL THE LAST organized by Lunchmeat Festival in Prague, Whole Festival, Berlin Atonal in Berlin, Jera on Air in the Netherlands, and an array of Berlin clubs including ://about blank, OXI, and Tresor.

Building upon a background collecting leftfield and experimental records as a teenager, mu"he's style draws from an uncompromising palette of the harder-edged side of dance music. With a range encompassing styles from techno and trance to hardcore, jungle, and footwork, mu"he deftly weaves across the BPM spectrum, unafraid to intersperse tough physical grooves with moments of dancefloor euphoria. This aesthetic found a home at renowned Tokyo club Vent, where mu"he founded the eclectic FUSION party in 2019. FUSION proved to be a disruptive influence on a stagnating Tokyo techno scene, with the VENT resident curating progressive and varied line-ups featuring a forward-thinking generation of fresh local talent. An influence that can still be felt today, as Tokyo’s underground scene continues to blossom in unexpected directions, with the new school leading the charge.

mu"he's crate digger background shines in energetic, diverse recordings brimming with both forgotten rave classics and undiscovered gems fresh from the far-flung corners of Bandcamp. Her keen ear and swelteringly effusive mixing style has made her an in-demand talent for international podcasts and radio shows. A breakout year for mu"he, 2020 saw her release a prolific number of podcasts, guesting on venerable outlets like Rinse FM, Ilian Tape, Voitax and HÖR among many others. Her boundary-pushing selections and intensely fun performances have earned her a dedicated following beyond Tokyo.

She also released her first EP from her own label, PARNASSUS in May 2024. The two original tracks on Free Mind EP embody contrasting yet perennial dancefloor themes–blissful warmth and gritty decadence. Also appearing on the EP are remixes by two of Japan’s most prominent producers: DJ SHUFFLEMASTER, a techno producer with close ties to Berlin’s legendary club and label Tresor since 90s, and Mars89, a singular and important talent in Tokyo’s underground scene.
