I love the marriage of East and West in music. 

ilIn the late 60s. George Harrison’s  ‘My Sweet Lord’  included a powerfully moving chorus of chants to krishna mixed with Hallelujahs. 

In the 70s, Holger Czukay’s  recorded  ‘Persian Love ‘ from shortwave radio broadcasts from Tehran. 

In the 80s, David Byrne and. Brian Eno’s  ‘My Life in the Bush of Ghosts’  had Eastern influences,  as did Pater Gabriel, whose  ‘Passion’ sampled a Lebanese mountain singer.  

In my playlists, Contemporary artists Deep and Smooth, Musika, NU and Hobta sample Eastern music. 

Persian artists who adopt a Western style include 
Mirza  and Mohsen Namjoo.
