I had so many peaceful memories with this track. And due to my rhythmic brain, I couldn't stop imagining drum lines on it so I started beatboxing while listening. Then came the idea that a lo-fi beat matches the most with a nostalgic acoustic song.

Angel is the first single from David Philips' most adventurous record to date “If I Had Wings” set for release in March 2015 on Black and Tan Records. Subtly blending folk guitar, electronica and found sounds (even a few kitchen utensils as percussion) to create a sound that is rootsy and at the same time expansive and dreamy. As usual Philips' soulful vocals and carefully crafted song writing are what tie it all together.

Back in the day, when I was a little kid in Iran I would hear the sound of prayers by master Shajarian everywhere in the streets and on the radio. This prayer, now somehow forbidden but barely forgotten, takes us to familiar spiritual places beyond faith or religion. Building on this nostalgia, I've taken parts and mixed it with a more modern tune. "Rabana" means "our lord" ,(ربنای_شجریان).

"Kings of the World" is a new film about the world of Gipsy music in Southern France. The clip  features Gipsy Royale guitarist Mario Regis, Andre Reyes and Canut singing and some wonderful scenes of the life they lead in this unique world of music.
