I wrote “Cairo” as a train-of-thought piece without hard and fast pop structure. It’s a short but vulnerable song about comparison (yes, even in this day and age). It’s about falling for somebody and feeling silly when you realize you couldn’t have been more delusional, which is something all of us have experienced.
