The Formerly: Living Room Session

Hey… Thanks for dropping by. This new song is a melding of several ideas, maybe too many for one song: Second chances in life, idyllic places to live, regrets, dreams, satori, changes we experience in our lives that change us, and relationships. Years ago, a friend visited me after I had moved far away from the city to the mountains. It had been a while. He went back home and told everyone that I had really mellowed. Ha. For context: I do not live by the sea, although I have been to many different coastal places in my lifetime. Musically, I suspect this song will evolve into many different versions. I already have three versions, all recorded in the last couple weeks. I chose this one to post because while snow shoveling the other day, this version was stuck in my head, which surprised me, because I like the Blues version better. There is an enigmatic version where I sing a couple bars in another language… and no one recognizes me. I put that one on the back burner as I need to flesh it out some more. Abbey going by AMisterie listens to almost every genre of music. Chose this artist name meaning “A Mystery” because it fits her persona best, as sort of an alter ego. She writes songs & edits her own vocals creating an alternative edgy, yet dark and emo type of sounds, or using these kind of beats for fun, as a form of self-expression, relief from anxiety, and to stay sane. Hearing the mixing of multiple genres intrigued and inspired her.
