Ghost Town

The latest release by Amlan Mukerjee, ‘Riyadh’ is his take on an experimental house track. An amalgamation of ambient sounds, Arabic vocals and groovy beats, the song is a laid back listen with an intricate, evolving beat peppered with vocal and percussion samples.

During ADE 2018, an interdisciplinary experiment took place at Disco Dolly, Amsterdam. Making a connection between visual art and electronic music. An experimental and creative environment taking place in a unique and underground venue located at the heart of Amsterdam city.

'lolita' is a dark and melancholy track about the pain and sorrow of loosing a loved one because of your mistakes. It is inspired by the romance in  Bollywood movies(the 90s). The cinematic melody layered with groovy Balearic beats and percussion gives a sense of hope in this darkness.

'Camel Groove' is a folktronica track comprising of distinct elements that originate from Indian folk music fused with modern electronica. A mellow but groovy track.

'roon' is a dark afro centric house track infused with samples that imitate a Bollywood chase sequence. The beat progresses to a very trippy break, clubbed with moving percussion and vocal chants. Inspired by the likes of Black Coffee & Djuma Soundsystem, this is my first attempt in making a progressive afro beat. Hope you like it!

Agrabah's remix by Catchy is a trap/ hip hop inspired commercial remake of the original Arabic folk beat by me(Amlan). The track begins with a beautiful ambient sample of Aasha Bhosle's track Raat Baaki Baat Baaki from the movie Namak Halal (1982), building to a catchy 808 based drop! 

The beat is fresh yet relatable, a creative fusion of two different eras. This track is suited for the dance floor or car any audio systems, making it ideal for long drives.

Amlan is a DJ and electronic music producer from India. His journey started as a primitive artist throwing house parties and jamming for his friends at his home. He has come a long way in very little time, from house 
parties to bagging his first international gig at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), 2018 alongside emerging European producers and DJs such as Joe Bailar, Odyssey and Mike Gerritsen.

His music flows across diversified genres, powered by groovy bass lines, warm melodies, percussive breaks complemented by folk influences from across the world. Amlan’s versatility and indefinable mix is suited for an electrifying time on the dance floor or an intimate and serene experience.
