Ammoye sings of love, life and justice - a lightworker and a soul rebel.
Rooted in the Reggae music of her native Jamaica, Ammoye effortlessly glides from Reggae and Dancehall to Gospel, Soul and R&B
with breathtaking ease and presence. This now multi-award winning artist started out her career while living with her grandparents in
Clarendon, Jamaica, finding solace from life’s trials and tribulations by singing in her local church choir. After choir practice, she would
regale the neighborhood with her latest songs and poems from the top of the mango tree in her backyard. In her late teens, reuniting with her mother brought her to Toronto, Canada. She quickly established herself in the community by forming the Sisters in Christ church group and the Voices of the Underground Artist movement,
leading to further involvement and collaborations in Toronto’s vibrant music scene. Over the past several years, Ammoye has been consistently performing at high-profile events and festivals around the world, including 2013’s 150,000 attendee EXIT festival in
Serbia, and sharing the stage with artists such as: Ziggy Marley and Freddie McGregor, to Romain Virgo and Beenie Man to name a few. Her career thus far has garnered several top
awards including a x2 time Juno nomination and multi Best Female Vocalist and Reggae Artist accolades; most recently with the 2015
Reggae Exclusive Recognition Awards. In 2016, Ammoye officially released her debut Mixtape “Enter The Warriorress” showcasing an eclectic mix of new and old, compiled with Kingston production powerhouse Natural High Music. This peek into Ammoye's heart and
soul is just a taste of what is to come from her new upcoming album The Light, featuring collaborations with top Jamaican reggae
talent including legends Sly & Robbie, Songwriter Mikey Bennett and Germaine Donovan of Penthouse Records. We have to now shine our lights. Reggae Music to the World.
