Bilkis Bano, one of the few gang rape survivors from 2002 Gujarat riots who came forward to lodge a complaint, secured justice after 15 years. Hers is one of the few cases of rape during communal riots in India that has led to conviction. 

In 2013, seven Muslim women filed complaints after being gang raped in the Muzaffarnagar communal riots. Since then, justice has eluded them due to procedural delays, threats and intimidation and lack of support from the judiciary and state machinery. 

In this podcast, Amnesty takes you through the findings of their report on the survivors' struggle for justice.

The struggles of Muzaffarnagar gang rape survivors

"Chup Na Raho Report Karo" (Don't Be Silent, Do Report) was a Hindi jingle created by Amnesty India as part of their Ready to Report campaign to encourage women to report sexual harassment.

In this jingle, the singer describes various forms of sexual harassment on train stations and encourages women to speak up and report using the Railway police helpline 182.
