Hjärngymnastik 189: Recidiv Saltstensbetraktning

Back after he summer holiday feeling a little bit too relaxed and still in holiday mode.  luckily the amount of fresh material coming out weekly saves the soul.  Not often we play the 2 versions of a track in one episode but TR Ones' 'Turning point out now on Intrinsic Rhythm is just too good not to.  Brand new fish from the D and my man Big Strick who has been a staple of the show since the 2nd episode way back in 2012, deep don't die baby! Elsewhere Placid's W.G.D ups the acid ante with a 12 from Dircsen, more off that excellent slab of wax over rate coming weeks. Baldo has hit a rich seam as of late and again providing the goods on the reliable E Beamz imprint, listen and hear what I'm talking about. Local Manchester talent dropping bombs on MOS Marcus Paulson with his take on the classic Chicago sound and its a killer EP out on the 26th September through Delsin, run go tell a friend!  Providing the fibre with the breaks and bass is myself and Brent Aquasky's Amen Tec and EMOTEC and Acid Boom with a mighty array of breakbeat delights, I may reveal the person behind the track 'Outta Limits' next week but for now gonna keep you guessing. Hjärngymnastik 300: Dyslipoproteinemisk Kryssningsbokning med Mihail P

Hailing from Vinica, a small town in East Macedonia, Mihail P (@mihailpetrovski) is part of a new generation of artists re-forging a vision of classical techno in their own mould. A student of Architecture and Design in his mid twenties, he grew up with sounds of Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Jean Michael Jarre, Pink Floyd emanating from the home stereo – which has no doubt played a part in shaping the resonance of his musical taste.

After discovering the sounds of UK and Detroit Techno courtesy of Timeline Radio and the Estimuloshow, over the last couple of years he’s struck solid links and friendships with Paul Rimbaud from Distant Worlds, Domenic Cappello and Verdant boss Andy Green who have all played a part in giving him a platform to develop his sound. In turn, exposing him to ever increasing circles and genres of music that he likes to immerse himself in. Between his studies and making music, Mihail likes to draw, especially using black and white ink – having found his way with the technique from quite a young age – it’s a hobby he also likes to indulge as much as he can.

Alongside the drawing, he does a lot of graphic design as a freelancer. As he puts it: “I’m a sucker for a good conceptual design, and am really into beautifully crafter records with sleeve art”.

The next mix in my series comes from my first international guest, Mihail P. An awesome DJ and selector with releases on labels such as Distant Worlds, Ferox, Seventh Sign, Verdant Recordings, Magnonic Signals, WWM, Nebulae Records, Prisoner Of Sound Records and Propersound Records. The internet brought us together and I have been playing some of his tracks so I'm very excited to present this mix.

Coming from a small town in East Macedonia called Vinica. Mihail grew up listening to his father's records like Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, La Bionda, Pink Floyd. He started DJing at about 15–16 years old, and  started producing very soon after that. He was always drawn by the more deeper side of house and techno and believes that it is also evident in his own productions too. UK techno and Detroit were his main inspirations. For this mix, Mihail P wanted to capture a special vibe. Stuff that inspired him back then and also newer music that has that particular vibe that he's always after. Cozy up! Mihail Petrovski, better known musically as Mihail P, hails from Vinica, a small town in Eastern Macedonia. As part of a new generation of artists redefining classical techno, he is carving his own path through the genre. Mihail's musical taste was shaped early on by the sounds of pioneers like Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Pink Floyd, whose melodies filled his childhood home.

His journey into electronic music deepened after discovering UK and Detroit Techno through Timeline Radio and the Estimuloshow.
