Once nothing more than a defiant fringe crew dealing street-grade inhalants on the eastside of New Olympus, the Vapor Punks were born in the chemical haze of rebellion—just another nameless sub-gang under the larger, west-dominant Chemical Cutthroats.

When The Firewall came down like a tombstone between CHAZ and the rest of New Olympus, the Vapor Punks were left behind like everyone else—abandoned by the government, discarded by the city, and surrounded by a rising tide of chaos. That betrayal didn’t break them—it hardened them. They shed their old ties, branded their own colors in blood and aerosol, and began waging a street-level war against the system that left them to rot.

What began as targeted sabotage and riot graffiti evolved into a full-scale insurgency. Supply raids turned into resource networks. Saboteurs became tacticians. Word spread through pirate signals and burner feeds until the Vapor Punks weren’t just a gang—they were a cause. In the eyes of CHAZ’s forsaken masses, they became the loudest voice collectively shouting what everyone else was too broken to scream.

But no revolution is clean. Their rise was carved through the wreckage of a dozen rival factions, each trying to claim CHAZ’s soul. The resulting street wars were violent and brutal—alley massacres, block-wide firebombings, and cyber-assassinations were all part of the climb. And when the dust settled, the Vapor Punks had become not a gang, but a movement.

That movement, however, is far from unified. The gang fractured under the weight of it's own gluttony, splintering the Punks into an unruly constellation of semi-autonomous cells, each claiming the name but interpreting its meaning differently. Some seek justice. Others want revenge. Still others just want the power vacuum to remain wide open. Turf lines blur. Ideologies clash. But despite internal chaos, they all fly the same banner—a permanent middle finger to The Firewall, the system, and the city that abandoned them.

In CHAZ, the Vapor Punks are warlords, prophets, dealers, and dreamers. In New Olympus, they are an infection—unseen but growing. No matter how fractured, their message is always the same.
