Apocalyptic Bristol art rock outfit Erotic Secrets of Pompeii return
with new single 'Osiris at the Large Hadron Collider', due for release 2nd November 2023.

Following their UK tour in promotion of their debut EP earlier this
year, ESOP have been amassing a passionate fanbase with their incendiary live performances, laying the foundations for their highly anticipated debut album Mondo Maleficum, out 25 January 2024.

‘Osiris at the Large Hadron Collider’ showcases ESOP's abilities to straddle multiple genres, bringing together post-punk and art rock to create something dark, mischievous and immersive - an encapsulation of the band's febrile and unique sound.

On the surface, the song finds the Egyptian god of the dead confronting the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator – the pinnacle of man’s technological advances. A dichotomy of the old world and the new. However, peel back the layers and it is a song about hubris, supersedence and the fragility of the human condition – especially humanity's obsession with death, faith and power.

Speaking about 'Osiris...’, frontman Thomas Hawtin said: "It’s a regretful realisation set to frenetic, staccato guitars and a pounding rhythm section which drive the song in a maniacal, mechanical motion, while the choruses ring out with vocal harmonies chanting with cult-like conviction."

Set for release in Jan 2024, and available on limited edition blood-red vinyl, Mondo Maleficum is an album of angular, agitated art-rock and death-trip soliloquies, where ESOP flaunt their vile pageantry and conjure new gratuitous myths. The band invites you to join their bizarro death cult and act out grand magickal gestures at the grindhouse. Behold a new age of
revelations where the secret to survival is to embrace your true authentic self, to accept death and be reborn in a weird, beautiful image of you.
