'Anjunadeep Explorations 2022' Mixed By Daniel Curpen

I put together this 5+ hour DJ mixtape filled with around 70 pieces of music i'm really enjoying and playing out right now.
The mix contains a broard spectrum of melodic house and techno that is near and dear to me and also features new and upcoming music from myself.
This follows my recent release on Lane8's label TNH with fellow music maker Ryterband.

The last time we played Kings Hall at Brooklyn Mirage was our second gig ever as Leaving Laurel, in October of 2021. It feels like a really long time ago. Emotions & nerves were high.. everything felt very new to the two of us. We didn't quite know what DJing as Leaving Laurel together would sound like at the time but we were having fun figuring it out. 

Fast forward almost 2 years later, to this past Friday & it felt like our set in Brooklyn had become all of those experiences together compressed into one moment. We felt calm & proud, knowing Pierce was right there smiling.

Joie de Vivre - Episode 445 - Coming from São Paulo

So, i've been spending quite a bit of time on producing, which means i usually don't listen to a lot of music during that time as i don't want to be influenced "too much" by other sounds.
I notice a pattern in the way things work for me, its production and minimal music listening, then i'll have a bunch of gigs coming up and i switch, into lots of music listening.
During this "window" (lets call it) i get back into mixing tracks again, and its like my earholes just go "thank f*k we don't have to listen to you anymore 😛 " and the joys of finding new music to my ears is.... i don't think i have words for it 🤷 
Playing none of my own stuff, thats coming later 😉 
This is one of those mixes where it feels "real", hence the "something real" name, because i'm purely listening to music that i love with yet again, minimal outside influences. 
& that feels pretty real to me 🙂

Amr Hachicho, better known as A.M.R, is an electronic music producer and audio engineer hailing from Qatar. Amr’s journey as an artist began during his early adolescence, ignited by his family's deep passion for music, which fostered a lifelong creative connection.

As A.M.R he made his debut in 2008, publishing his first major single with Enhanced Recordings, gaining him support from some of the leading Trance DJs from around the world, including Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, and Tiësto.

In 2018, A.M.R made his first appearance into the Melodic and Progressive House scene through his numerous releases on Monstercat Silk, which received exceptional responses, sparking a new path for him.

In 2020 he debuted his first artist album A Place For Everything, followed by several other singles and most recently, his sophomore album Familiar Faces, released in 2023. A.M.R's catalog appeared on several editorials playlists, in addition to APPs and Games such as Calm, Rocket League and Roblox. Several of A.M.R’s singles are in regular rotation on SiriusXM Chill, including Fell Out Of Love and Mirrorball. 

A.M.R is also one of the resident hosts of the weekly Monstercat Silk Showcase radio show. He's also been a guest DJ on other acclaimed radio shows like Above & Beyond's Group Therapy and had the honor of remixing their iconic classic Love Is Not Enough, released on Anjunabeats.
