Goodmorning from Goa angels,

Wake up slowly to another banger of a set by our Geju. Ever since the Russian duo set foot inside our Gardens we have been completely addicted to their sound. The longer they play the more interesting it becomes and like always we gave them a three hour set during our Amsterdam Dance Event together.

Enjoy and tell us what you think. Even though we pick up on the deep and dark sound of the two, it also picks up the pace. Unlike Geju? Or did we enter a new period of time for these supertalent.

Be as it may, we are obsessed once again.

The Seekers of Light Babylon at ADE 2021 - Geju

On this glorious morning in July, Hekske - the little witch - woke up at the first sunlight.  Falke – the 10-year old witch apprentice – was already awake and preparing their morning tea with the help of a family of squirrels.  The girls sensed that it would be a very hot day, so they decided to make use of the cool morning temperatures to make their daily inspection round of the forest.  After completing the inspection, Hekske suddenly felt the urge  to fly.  This was quite unusual as witches generally only fly on full moon days to participate in their monthly coven.  Even more strangely, Falke also felt the urge to fly, while she’s still too young to participate in witch covens.  
Anyway, the girls surrendered to their deeper instincts and took off from the central clearing.  They knew they would reach their destination simply by following their inner compass.  The witches flew in southeastern direction under a sky-blue sky.  It soon became clear that this part of Europe was also in the grip of a heat wave.  They flew over ever higher hills and even saw the snow-capped mountain peaks of the Styrian Alps.  Then the girls sensed they had reached their destination and gently touched down on a green meadow full of purple flowers, where they were warmly welcomed by a group of witches.  It quickly became clear that the other witches came from all over Europe and the Middle East.  After the arrival of the last witch, the women went to a little river.  It was so hot that all witches spontaneously slipped out of their white dresses and waded into the crystal-clear water, which was really cold as this river came straight from a glacier.
Then the witches let themselves go with flow and lazily drifted downstream until they reached a field of sunflowers.  They got out of the water and searched their way through the sunflower labyrinth, until they found a big round granite altar in the middle of the field.  Lots of mysterious symbols were carved in the altar, which was obviously dedicated to the sun.  And talking about the sun… the heat was almost unbearable and – as they always live in the shadow of the trees – both Hekske and Falke were not used to such strong sunlight. They were quite worried that their delicate skin would soon get seriously burned.  Luckily, there was a witch who held a small flacon with a mysterious liquid.  She gently rubbed it on the pale white skin of Hekske and Falke. It was home-made sunscreen which she had made according to an age-old recipe of natural ingredients.
A little later, all witches aligned in a circle around the stone altar, holding hands.  Hekske felt an intensely warm energy flowing through her hands and arms, passing through her heart chakra.  The energy got stronger and stronger, and suddenly a yellow orb appeared above the altar. Its light gradually became so intense she couldn’t keep her eyes open.  She felt the insanely powerful rays, and her hair was blown backwards from the wind which seemed to originate from the shining orb.  Meanwhile the temperature kept on rising until it became almost unbearable.  And strangely, the little witch had the feeling that there was a small shining orb inside her solar plexus.
And just before the temperature became really unbearable, she felt a cool wind blowing through her long brown hair, while the shining orb faded away.  The witches could open their eyes again and started to giggle.  Soon the whole group was giggling and no one could tell why.  Then all witches remembered the little river and they all ran through the sunflowers to take a dive in the crystal-clear water.  The little witch enjoyed the soothing feeling of the ice-cold water on her skin.  Her whole body slowly cooled down, except her solar plexus which continued to emit a pleasant warm glow.  Never before had she felt so energized…

Neo-Schamanismus

Wer oder was sind die Schamanen unser Epoche? 
Um die Antwort auf diese Frage zu ergründen, sollte vorab geklärt werden wer oder was ein Schamane ist.
In früheren Kulturen gab es in den kleinen, dörflich gehaltenen Gemeinschaften immer einen Vertreter mit starker Verbindung zur geistigen Welt. Diese Weisen wurden in manchen Völkern auch Medizinmänner getauft. Ihr Aufgabe bestand darin, sich um die spirituellen Belange und um das seelische Wohlbefinden der anderen Dorfmitglieder zu kümmern. Dafür wurden verschiedene Praktiken angewandt. Meist wurde in der Dorfmitte eine mehrstündige Zeremonie abgehalten. Alle Bewohner trafen sich dort, sangen gemeinsam und tanzten ausgelassen. Während dieser Riten gab  
der Schamane den Takt vor. Meist nutzt er dafür eine selbst hergestellte Trommel, mit magischen Symbolen und Mustern verziert. 
Heutzutage existieren nur noch einige wenige dieser Kulturen und Lebensgemeinschaften. Doch der Grundgedanke des Schamanismus lebt weiter. Mittlerweile jedoch in einer anderen Form. Die Menschen kommen des Nachts zusammen um gemeinsam zu tanzen und sich zu Vergnügen. Aus einem Dorfplatz wurden Clubs, Festivalgelände oder ein umfunktioniertes Eigenheim. Die modernen Medizinmänner sind Elektro DJ‘s. Das Ambiente und der Anlass mögen sich gewandelt haben, doch das rhythmische Klopfen der Trommeln ist geblieben. 
Es liegt wortwörtlich in der Hand der Discjockeys, welche Stimmung sie durch ihre Schwingung kreieren. Dementsprechend geht auch eine große Verantwortung mit dieser Aufgabe und Berufung als Neo-Schamane einher.
Heute wird es ausgiebig und üppig. Ezio Aguiar stellt uns für diesen Podcast ein über dreistündiges Live-Set zur Verfügung. Von Anfang bis Ende hört es sich wie ein 5 Gänge Menü der extra Klasse. Angenehm Deep, spirituell anregend und einfach eine Runde Nummer.
