Hyenah and Deep Aztec join forces for ‘Together’ on Bedouin’s Human By Default this November, featuring a remix from Stavroz. Head of the RISE parties at Watergate in Berlin and affiliate of Freerange, Objektivity, Sondela, and beyond, the mysterious Hyenah teams up with South African artist and Get Physical graduate Deep Aztec for ‘Together’ on Bedouin’s sublime Human By Default imprint. Backed with a remix from Belgian group Stavroz, the release is a triumphant display of deep, melodic house music from a host of exciting names in the modern circuit. Leading the release, title track ‘Together’ marries shuffling percussion, deft pads, and lush vocals for a rousing opener, while Stavroz’s remix delivers additional textures and sharp synth work to the mixture. Following on, ‘Zabuya’ sees rich chords, bright leads, and catchy hooks before the Dub mix closes out the release, stripping away the vocal performance for a welcomed instrumental cut. Hyenah feat. New York duo UpAllNight make their Ready Mix Records debut for label release #SRMR247, with the stunning ‘How The West Was One’, presented with remixes from J. Gabriel vs. Chuffing Buffy, Mert Yucel and FALFÁN.

Comprising of revered house legend, John Creamer and rising super talent, Noam Rubinstein - the UpAllNight pair have been blazing a trail through the electronic underground since forming in 2018. With DJ sets performed all over the globe, collaborative releases with Roland Clark, Deeproot, Sia, Kevin Yost, Eyedillic and tracks supported by John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez, Beatport and Hector Romero, among many others.

The unique sound UpAllNight describe as “drugged out, tribal, lush, atmospheric and deep” is immediately in evidence on ‘How The West Was One.’ The tune is a crisply produced, blunted deep house cut with an incredibly catchy, Western-esque melodic motif.

Fellow New Yorker J. Gabriel aka Chuffing Buffy turns in two special versions of ‘How The West Was One.’ The main remix leans into the track’s Western theme, with mournful guitar licks, trumpet-like synths and moody voices over tough, straight-up house rhythms, while the ambient mix drops the drums entirely, summoning an eerie, synth-laden ghost town atmosphere.

Crystal Sun draws inspiration from the point where the sun is at its highest position and feeds us with energy. Following the myths where the sun transitioned to the west, the land of the feather serpent and the great Mayan priests. It taught them the knowledge of the stars. With that came the message of the end of time.

A piece of music that carries positive vibes and the joy of life from a musician who found inner peace and wants to transmit this energy.

Naarm-based producer felt. marks his stellar self-titled debut on DMO, with a tasteful love letter to the golden age of chillout. The five-track EP is crafted of cinematic synthesis and crystalline vistas, and expertly moves between glacial atmospheres and warm basslines throughout the release, underpinned by gentle rhythms undulating like ocean currents. It all arrives fully formed in vision and technique, a vivid and organic reflection of the beauty of the natural world.


felt.’s opening track ‘Life Formed’ is a slow unfurling that gracefully accentuates its gradual, shuffling motion with reduced percs sitting hazily in the mix. The melodic elements speak foremost - all in harmony with each other, punctuated by beautiful cascades of sound that kindle images of morning sun reflected on an icy lake.


‘sugar is’ follows, flipping a sample of the best Photek into a slo-mo cruise of atmospheric breakbeat anchored to a 4-to-the-floor pulse. felt. quickly introduces an indecipherable vocal that waxes and wanes throughout the tune, coalescing in a delicate resolution as the tranquil sonics evaporate.


‘Whatever Grows Together’ introduces itself as a peak of the record with a quietly commanding drum break and rich sound design married to pointillist synths that go straight for the spirit. A climax built on clear-as-glass sequencing and confident call-and-response melodies.


‘When Dawn Breaks’ is the most DJ-friendly of the bunch, evoking a clear-eyed awakening with an immaculately arranged, spacious drum pattern atop flourishes of piano and drifting atmospherics. The song sees felt. underscoring his chops as a self-assured producer with its minimal arrangement, saying lots with little.


‘Loom’ closes things out with sheer beauty and an exhale of joy, layering shimmering shoegaze textures, blissful melodics, and a subdued sense of awe.

Its his First Release. The three tracks reflect his interest for the native and indigenious but come along with driving baselines. Hajur Is that word that you can use in every context. It means hello, what?, or just to agree. Masaya Is the Name of a volcana in Nicaragua. The vocals for the track were recorded at a Maya Farm that Produces Cacau for chocolate in Nicaragua. Parts of the Drumset were recorded at the malecon in Havanna. The Song has a certain Groove that reminds of Latinamerica. The Vocals for Brahma were recorded with a friend of Udasa named Krishna from Nepal. For the natural Sound of Snares Udasa recorded cracking Wood in the Forest. The whole ep is in 432 hertz.

The mystery of art is deepened by the fact that inspiration can burst at anytime; any sound or fleeting glance can trigger a masterpiece. How can that be explained? We don’t know, and maybe we never will, but what matters to us is tending to that inspiration, and the conditions in which it thrives. This is the story of MA, the latest EP by Batu Ozer, which we are happy to bring to our listeners today. Old recordings of saz or string instruments resembling long-necked lutes, triggered the creative genius of the artist, and five new aural gems were the result.
The title of the album means “water” in ancient Turkish language. Its sonorities and motives evoke the elegance and preciousness of the old Anatolian history. Sounds of spilling water remind us of the fountains found in the courtyards and gardens of gilded palaces. Gentle choirs blend with lutes and finger percussion, effectively transporting us to the public intimacy of the ‘Arfana’: the public musical gatherings of the old times. All of the artist’s productions reflect this ancient beauty, which skillfully revisits and elaborates with electronic effects, resulting in a timeless weave of antiquity and modernity.
