Sampled and pitched in a short loop with reminiscences of the 2000s, the aerial chords of First Time become strangely heady under Valerj's guidance. Carried by this almost exhilarating loop, our auditory contemplation accelerates when the kicks arrive. Our head bobs to the beat of this driving bass, topped by its metallic shaker. The chopped and glitched vocal overlays itself and becomes more and more distorted as the rest of the percussion joins in the dance. The energy of the track builds up in successive bursts. It takes time to build up gently, until the arrival of these angelic synthetic arpeggios, which complete our immersion in the trance. Like a rain of stars, they accompany us towards the end of this dream where only a heady sample remains, with the false air of a scratched CD

Trevino aka Marcus Intalex joins recent Aus signings Recloose and Cassy with his 'Casino' EP. Marcus Intalex is widely known for making ground breaking drum and bass. In 2011 he started the Trevino alias to feed his desire to get back to his roots and rekindle his 4 to the floor spirit. 

This new phase of his career propelled him to move to Berlin where he's continued to develop a hugely impressive discography that’s included releases on Ben Klock's Klockworks and Martyn's 3024.

'Casino' brings together three deftly structured and dance floor focused tracks that blur the boundary between house and techno in true Trevino fashion.
