HAPPY NEW YEAR, FOLKS! There aren’t that many of you, but it’s still cool that there are already 27 subs! I started uploading this year and honestly didn't expect much, but then i look at neo chaos that already has 5.5K plays... Thank you all. Honestly, the year has been difficult and I REALLY hope that the next one will be better (but it’s hard to believe). Regarding the track - this time I couldn’t decide whether it was a remix or a cover, since the instruments are almost all the same, but I added new parts... idk, so be it (I don’t like the result one bit, I hope at least you like it ).

As Kris expresses to Asgore a desire to leave, a desire to further their journey back home, Asgore feels he hasn't done a thorough enough job of preparing them for the adversaries that may await them. While the monsters in New Home are generally rather harmless, the monsters that beyond the threshold are, in Asgore's words, stronger and more vicious. They want freedom. They want Kris. They want their SOUL.

He's convinced that pacifism won't always be an option. So Kris must prove to him that they're willing to do whatever it takes to make it out alive. Mercy is no longer an option.

The only way to progress the battle is by attacking Asgore. Showing him mercy or stalling through various acts will prove to do absolutely nothing.

I was HOPING to get this out before v2, but I couldn't squeeze it out in time. Many such cases!
Nonetheless, this is probably one of my favorite covers I've ever done! BATW is such a catchy track and I loved being able to do my own take on it!
I think my favorite part of this one is the Lantern section, which I think is saying a lot because that section is probably my LEAST favorite part of the original. It's not bad by any means, of course, I just think it isn't as strong as the rest of the track. I think I managed to do it justice though!
Fun fact: originally, for the Lantern section, I was gonna have a complete tonal switch, where it changed to a super realistic piano VST (or maybe even a live performance...), but I couldn't find a way to integrate it smoothly enough into the rest of the song. Maybe one day we'll get the Live take!
Fun fact 2: I made a deliberate decision to not use the Chrono Trigger piano OR any orchestra hits in this track! Both great instruments, but I find that they're a bit overused in covers of this track and wanted to challenge myself to use some more unique instrumentation. It's a small thing but I think it made the track better overall.
